Rosh Hashana is judgement time
I believe something special will occur at Rosh Hashana 29/30 September 2008. Something like a download of consciousness. We will suddenly remember who we are and what we are. It's like waking up from a dream. We switch from beliefs to knowledge. As soon as the new moon is sighted and the trumpet is blown, which is the day and hour nobody knows of, the walls around us will fall and we will be in contact with the all-knowing source of life. The truth about everything will become available knowledge and we are set free.

Re: Rosh Hashana is judgement time
The biblical observed Rosh Hashanah is Oct. 1st/Oct. 2nd. Its dependendt on when the new moon (chodesh-first sliver) of the new moon is seen.

The rabbinical calculated is Monday/Tuesday.

Ramadan ends at sunset Tuesday night.

I completely agree, this is why I will be fasting, because food will play a big role in the coming days.

mopar is this what you're talking about?

The Karaite sect of the Jews are very strict observers of when Yom Teruah (Rosh Hashanah) begins. The believe it will be a little later than the date that we have been given, AND, their watch can not involve high-tech equipment . . . the sliver of the new moon has to be verified clearly by two people spotting it from Jerusalem.

Many Christians believe that this Rosh Hashanah might be the time of the Christian Ascension. If so, much or perhaps all of what the OP conjectured might come to pass for those who will disappear from this world and enter the next.

Then, the End Times judgments begin on earth...

Don't miss the last flight out...

Peace.

Yes, that is what mopar was referring to. Many of us rely on the actual sighting by human eyes of the first sliver of the moon, and the Karaites send out a notice to all subscribers when the new moon has been sighted in Jerusalem.

Re: Rosh Hashana is judgement time
Thank you czygyny,

It looks like the new moon will be seen Wednesday night. Here is a chart as to when the new moons will be seen.

[link to www.godthefather.us]

Here is an article to how do we know WHEN the festivals are.

[link to www.godthefather.us]

Here is when the Karaites are saying the festival dates are, this is pending the sighting of the new moon.

[link to www.karaite-korner.org]

The Sept. 29th/30th date is according to the rabbinical calendar that was calculated YEARS in advance & has 4 rules of postponement that actually CHANGE the dates of the festivals. This is talked about in the 2nd link above. It is slowly getting more & more off each year because of these 4 rules of postponement.

I am not sure what the relevance is here but the new moon will be seen (with high tech equipment) at 11:12 AM Monday, Jerusalem time. But the 100 blasts on the shofar are at Sundown, Jerusalem time on Monday???

It has to been seen without optical aid. (they didn't have help in biblical times) The day starts at sunset, so that is when the shofar sounds if the new moon is seen.

OK.. so, when is the "last trump" of the feast? is it a matter of some minutes after the 1st is blown, or on the 2nd day?

I'm not sure what you are asking here. But, the festival day ends at sunset the next day. Some die hard Jews keep it 2 days just to be sure they are doing it right but they don't keep Atonement (fasting for 24 hours) for 2 days just to make sure they are keeping it on the right day. LOL

It (Rosh Hashanah) officially begins evening of 29 September
and ends on evening of October 1st.
But the real judgment day is Yom Kippur which begins evening of Wednesday 8th and lasts until evening of Thursday 9th.

Why two days of Rosh Hashanah?
Here's the answer:

Before our current exile, we did not have a fixed calendar as we do today. Rather, the Supreme Torah court in Jerusalem determined our calendar on a month to month basis. They did this on the first day of every month, based on witnesses testifying that they had seen the new moon. Therefore, the people outside Israel had insufficient time to find out the exact date in time for the festivals. The "two-day festival" arose to correct this situation. In Israel, however, the people lived close enough to Jerusalem to find out the exact date of all the festivals except Rosh Hashanah. Since Rosh Hashanah occurs on the first day of the month, even those living in Jerusalem sometimes needed to observe it for two days, if the witnesses failed to arrive.

i'm asking because i read a site that states they blow the 1st trump, then continue that for around 15 minutes, when the last trump is blown. in other words, it's over in about 1/2 hour or less...

They blow the "trump" (shofar) during the prayer services, but the holiday continues after that.
The shofar is meant to wake people up.

The Supreme Torah court is the Sanhedrin which is run by a bunch rabbinical Jews that put the Talmud above the Torah. They think God should listen to them on how to interpret the scriptures.

No,they aren't. Sorry, I have friends over in Israel. One is a Karaite Jew & one is a Messianic Jew. Both have told us about the Supreme Court over there & how it works & who it is run by.
