It suggests that we cannot fully understand God and His ways until eternity. I say this because it says "for now". Man is, and always has been, a maker of gods. It has been the most serious and significant occupation of his sojourn in the world. The sun will rise without thy assistance. |

Zerubbabel User ID: 514285 United States 09/30/2008 02:36 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | This verse is all about how we can see others clear enough, but we cannot see ourselves with the supposed clarity that we see others. We have a built-in filter to our own ability to see ourselves. It is quite easy for us to rationalize away our thoughts and behavior. But, according to this verse, we are approaching a time (now here) where we will all see each other clealy and KNOW who we truly are. Stop and consider the ramifications of this prophecy. Think what it would be like if we could all read thoughts. It would be chaos. There would truly be "wailing and gnashing of teeth". Whoever and whatever you are will become transparent to everyone--including yourself. This is what, I believe, the tribulation is all about. People will be at each other's throats. There will be no place to hide. The enemies of God's people will actually be seeking them out to destroy them. Everyone will justify their own behavior as the correct way and tolerance will dissappear. "The weak will say that they are strong". Nation will rise up against nation. This was even brought up in the Presidential Debate. McCain thinks that Obama's "open declaration" of intentions with states like Iran is flying in the face of past procedures like hiding intentions and keeping secrets religiously like the Bush Administration does. That time is coming to an end. Whether anyone wants to admit it or not, everybody sees what the others are doing. At some point, there will be no more secrets. To the honest soul, this will be a time of great revelation and joy. To the dishonest soul, it will be their worst nightmare. They will seek to destroy rather than change. The believers who see themselves as they really are will seek to change themselves through Grace. This will be no time of half measures. Every power will be on the stretch. Everything will be on the line. Family and friends will no longer be able to control the honest seeker after truth. The truth will go forward with a power never seen before. It is already happening in different places here and there. It will become widespread and then global. It is a time of great joy and unimaginable suffering. The suffering will hate the joyous. They will be blamed for every natural disaster (and there will be many). Not one of these holy ones will shirk their responsibilities. They will be without doubt. They see the path clearly, and follow it come what may. Just as Jesus had to go all the way to the cross to make our title for heaven sure, we will have to fully endure the tribulation to make our fitness for that title sure. We must (fully aware) fully endure everything the tribulation has to offer. Only clear eyesight and insight will allow us to endure this period. We know fully that Jesus is now on His way to deliver us at the eleventh hour. Angels will be held in check (by the Commanding Angel) to prevent them from going to the aid of the suffering ones. They MUST "drink of the cup and be baptised with the baptism". This time is right upon us. In many ways, I HATE seeing people for just what they are. Hope for them disappears. I must move on for there is no hope of salvation for those who have rejected the truth and their own insight. They create their own lies and believe in them--to the point of killing YOU if necessary. It hardly seems possible, but the scriptures point to this period as inevitible. It is here now. To those who have "used their talents", the talents of others will be given to you and they will lose theirs. This is the long-hoped-for time, but for many it will be a nightmare. |

It is SO DIFFICULT for people to see their own short-comings and to get past their egos and pride. The EGO at one time was our friend, protecting us from real danger. When we grew more intelligent and could use logic instead of might, and we no longer needed the antiquated EGO. But EGO hangs on and actually CAUSES us to create enemies just so we still NEED the EGO! It's what our leaders, both religious and political, are doing. Create chaos and fear so they can be the savior. Jesus was about personal responsibility and accountability with the added caveat that we are fully CAPABLE of mature actions and solutions ourselves. Jesus, imho, represents that which eliminates EGO, because we have it all inside to rise above pettiness and fear. Fear is the opposite of LOVE. S. No matter how many cookies you consult, you will find that love is our greatest fortune. ~ Leigh Standley |

Read the whole thing and you will better understand. 1Co 13:9 For we know in part, and we prophesy in part. 1Co 13:10 But when that which is perfect is come, then that which is in part shall be done away. 1Co 13:11 When I was a child, I spake as a child, I understood as a child, I thought as a child: but when I became a man, I put away childish things. 1Co 13:12 For now we see through a glass, darkly; but then face to face: now I know in part; but then shall I know even as also I am known. |
