United Auto Spam Union (First Thread Must Not Have Posted Correctly)
United Auto Credit Union (Sometimes called United Auto Credit Corporation) is an ABSOLUTE SCAM. Don't take my word for it, there are SEVERAL words provided by pissed off UAC clients.

Best quotes to follow from the link below:

"I am a paying consumer, and yet the day before my payment is due I am called and harassed about what TIME they will receive the payment!"

"Although I diligently worked with them over a two month period to get the best payoff and maintained my payments they lied, could not remember conversations, and failed to return promised phone calls on at least 5 occasions. This is the most unscrupulous business I have ever encountered."

"This fk'n company united auto credit is bull shit! I worked for them for 3 years!...Everything is all lies lies lies! The employees come in late with dumb excuses so i have to cover their asses! They have no respect for anyone! The work environment is not professional at all!"

"I have complained to the Better Business Bureau about this company. No one should be harassed or made to call and check in everyday with a loan officer. (They'll do this sometimes, demand that you CALL and CHECK IN to see if your payment has in fact been received in that day's mail)"

"I hate this company!!! I was late just a little bit on my payment $40.00 and they showed up at my job... left me a lot of harassing messages... calling me names and telling me to prepare to be a pedestrian. I will be reporting everyone of them. I was also told "We're not in it for customer service, just to get the money!!!"

"I put my house up for sale and called United Auto to make arrangements with them... (I work in lending so I contacted them FIRST) after that every month I received threatening calls, I was even harassed by one of the collectors at the Middleburgh Hts. office. He actually left messages laughing and saying he would pay me a visit at home"

"I hate this company. If I am one day late I get harassing calls and hang ups and profanity over the phone."

"To this day they still call my old job looking for me, as well as my personal references. I found this to be very tacky, these people are rude and vulgar. For this I have moved and they have no idea where I am at. Prior to me moving they showed up at my door, job and you wouldn't believe the things they say to your references."

"Today, I received a phone call from this company that was so verbally abusive I again called the company's local police department. No one deserves to be treated so nasty... Especially someone who is PAYING like they are suppose to."

"This company calls my work phone (Which is a federal government line) so often that my fellow employees have written statements about it so that I can submit them along with a formal complaint."

"I have had these people show up at my house and leave a business card on my car when my payment was not in the office by the end of the business day it was due. I dropped the payment off in the night box that after work that evening. This same day they called everyone on my reference list and left harassing messages."

"By the end of the day I had numerous e-mails from friends complaining about the abusive messages being left for them. I called UAC and asked them what their problem was and was told there was NO grace period and the payment was to be in the office ON THE DAY IT WAS DUE... not after the office was closed. I sent my next payment 2 weeks early. Guess what? They 'lost' it."

"I sent my payment the day before it was due because the funds were not going to be there any sooner than that. The phones called started the same day the payment was to be delivered in the office by the USPS. They left voice mails, I called them back to find out EXACTLY what it was they wanted from me. I was yelled at and hung up on by the 'gentleman' I spoke with. His solution to the problem was for me to leave work, get a money order and bring it to their office. This was 11 AM... he said the mail would not get there until 1 PM. I told them I was NOT leaving my job knowing full well the payment would be there before I was going to be there."

"I was asked by a good friend to be a reference. I would have never thought that Just being a reference would guide me to such unprofessional people. I told the first person that my friend was an upstanding individual who pays his bills."

They lend money to people at what appears to be a fair interest rate but after signing, they doctor the contract to say the interest rate is .01% below the usury law. And with No grace period, but a lot of times the contract you sign will HAVE a grace period state on it but it will be edited/doctored after signing to say "no grace period" So when you argue that you DO in fact have a grace period, they'll send you a copy of your contract and it will be completely different than when you signed it.

My own personal experience is quite LOVELY though.

They break the law just about every time they call.

I live with my honey but we are not married. He works during all of their business hours. I didn't learn how crazy they were until the first time he was one day late on his payment (Simply because his check didn't come until the day after his payment was due.. had nothing to do with negligence). So there I was doing regular housework when they call the house and I answer the phone. A guy instroduces himself as Tony from United Auto and asks to speak with my honey (Who's name is Jon). I told him that Jon was not in.

Tony then proceeds to ask WHERE Jon is. "Where is he?" just like that.

I told him Jon was at work and would not be home until after five P.M. (Which is the UAC office closing time).

This idiot then asks me if Jon gets a lunch break. I told him yes, but that he would be taking it at work. Tony asked me for Jon's work number and I told him that he didn't have a work number. Tony didnt seem to believe me and laughed a little. I told him I was being serious and then explained that Jon works at an Exotic Animal Sanctuary that is completely cut off from the town it's located in. They don't keep phones or cell phones out there, and only communicate with other employees via radios (Walkie talkies). I decided to cut the 21 questions short by asking him if he's calling about Jon's auto payment. Our conversation was as follows;

"Yes" he said, "It was due yesterday."
"Right...well, why are you calling today?"
"Because his payment is late" (First illegal comment; business representatives are not legally allowed to discuss account status with anyone other than the account holder or preapproved individuals. And this guy didn't even ask for my name.)

"It's not late, it was only due yesterday. I would imagine he gets at least a three day grace period right?"

"Wrong. United Auto does not offer grace periods." (This pissed me off).

"Well nobody OFFERS me the authority to breath but as a common courtesy, they don't give me crap about inhaling or exhaling either. With all due respect, sir, EVERY reputable company that is worth a damn offers at least a three day grace period."

"Well that was not agreed upon in his contract."

"Well sir, I hate to burst your bubble but, again, Jon IS NOT HERE and won't be back until your business hours are over."

"Okay well then what is your name?"

"Interesting that you ILLEGALLY discussed Jon's account status with me before you even bother asking my name or relationship with him. I think asking for my name is a little late, now."

"Well then do you have any information as to when his payment will be sent?"

"ANOTHER illegal comment made by yourself. But I guess I'll play your little unprofessional game. YES, his payment will be sent out this afternoon. The only reason it was not sent out yesterday was because he didnt receive his paycheck until today."

"Well that isn't our issue."

It must be your issue, if it somehow gives you the gall to call and harass me about his whereabouts and payment status, and illegally discussing his account with me."

"Just have Jon call us when he gets in."

I hung up on the idiot.

Another instance was the same situation, only a female, who was actually a LITTLE bit nicer than Tony was, called. She wasnt professional either though but she certainly wasnt prying like Tony did. She did however discuss Jon's account with me without asking my name, just like Tony. When I told her that I mailed the payment myself (It was a friday) and that it would get to them on monday, she began to lecture me.

"Wait, why did you MAIL it?"
"Umm, what else was I supposed to do, warp it to you?"
"No you should have called one of our representatives so that we could take your credit card info and charge it immediately."
"I don't see what's so wrong with mailing a payment"
"When its late (by one day ours was late because of paycheck), you NEVER mail a payment. Make sure it is received immediately."

"Well... What makes you think you're entitled to my credit card information, You don't even know my name."

"I mean Jon's credit card."

"No you didnt. You meant mine because you said "YOUR credit card information". Jon doesn't have a credit card. So we had to mail it."

"Well if you're living with him then you could have assisted him by allowing him to use yours."

"Right, and pay the outrageous $15 dollar fee you guys charge for a simple credit card transaction? Lady, I don't know who you think you are or how much of a right you think you have to harass me and invade my personal relationship status with Jon, but I have half a mind to report you. Because GUESS WHAT, you DID give me your name and I know the branch you called from. I told you we sent the payment and That should NOT have sparked further lectures by you in ANY way. And for the record, this wouldn't even have been an issue if UAC would just give us a damn GRACE PERIOD!"

And hung up.

Boy, I sure do love my friends at UAC now... I know all of them by name, and they STILL don't know my name.
