IS IT POSSIBLE TO LIVE FOR MORE THAN 200 YEARS OLD?
And still look like 50?

See article below:

Professor Li Chung Yun was considered the oldest man of our century. The London Times (May 8, 1933) reported his death at the age of 256 years. Records found in China show he was born in 1677.

Professor Yun died with all his own teeth and hair. Those who knew him say that he looked about 50 when he was already over 200. He outlived 23 wives and had 11 generations of descendents during his lifetime.

Before he died, he left three specific guidelines regarding diet for those who wish to follow in his footsteps:

1) Do not overeat on hot summer nights. It causes stagnation of blood and energy.

2) Eat extra quantities of nourishing foods on cold winter mornings. It provides the extra essence and energy the body needs to compensate for having to keep warm in cold weather.

3) Adopt a primarily vegetarian diet

Professor Yun was a renowned Chinese scholar and herbalist. He spent the first 100 years studying and gathering wild herbs. He spent the latter part of his life lecturing and educating people about herbs and longevity. At the age of 250 years, he lectured before several thousand university students for many hours on the art of living long.

He consumed three plants on a daily basis. One was Lycium berries (Lycium barbarum). The common name for these berries in their native land of Tibet is Goji. Reports say that Yun started taking them daily when he was fifty years old. It is interesting that people who knew him say that he looked about 50 when he was already over 200.

The other two plants were ginseng and ho-shou-wu. While korean ginseng obviously agreed with Li Chung Yun, Korean ginseng is heating. It is considered medicinal and it is not recommended that people take it on a regular basis. A woman I know was having sleeping problems and heat flashes. When I told her to stop taking korean ginseng, her problems stopped. The only ginseng that one should consume daily is American ginseng. American ginseng is cooling.

If you have not yet heard of goji, you are not alone. While it has occupied an important place in traditional Asian medicine for countless generations, the secrets of its nutritional benefits have remained a mystery to most of the world.

Re: IS IT POSSIBLE TO LIVE FOR MORE THAN 200 YEARS OLD?
More info:

Goji berries grow on an evergreen shrub found in temperate and subtropical regions in China, Mongolia and in the Himalayas in Tibet. They are in the nightshade (Solonaceae) family.

Goji berries are usually found dried. They are shriveled red berries that look like red raisins.

Why do people use goji berries?
Goji berries have been used for 6,000 years by herbalists in China, Tibet and India to:
protect the liver

help eyesight

improve sexual function and fertility

strengthen the legs

boost immune function

improve circulation

promote longevity
Goji berries are rich in antioxidants, particularly carotenoids such as beta-carotene and zeaxanthin. One of zeaxanthin's key roles is to protect the retina of the eye by absorbing blue light and acting as an antioxidant. In fact, increased intake of foods containing zeathanthin may decrease the risk of developing age-related macular degeneration (AMD), the leading cause of vision loss and blindness in people over the age of 65.

In recent years, goji juice has become popular as a health beverage. Companies marketing goji juice often mention the unsupported claim that a man named Li Qing Yuen consumed goji berries daily and lived to be 252 years old. Marketers also list extensive health benefits of goji juice, even though there are few published clinical trials in humans.

What research has been done on goji berries?
Goji has only been tested on humans in two published studies. A Chinese study published in the Chinese Journal of Oncology in 1994 found that 79 people with cancer responded better to treatment when goji was added to their regimen.

There have been several test tube studies that show that goji berry contains antioxidants and that goji extracts may prevent the growth of cancer cells, reduce blood glucose, and lower cholesterol levels. However, that doesn't necessary mean that goji will have the same benefits when taken as a juice or tea.

Although goji berries like the ones used in traditional Chinese medicine aren't very expensive, goji juice is very pricey. Considering that a 32-ounce bottle of goji juice (about an 18-day supply) can run as high as $50 USD, the evidence isn't compelling enough at this time to justify the cost of goji juice.

Also, we don't know the side effects of regular goji consumption, or whether it will interfere with treatments or medications.

What do goji berries taste like?
Goji berries have a mild tangy taste that is slightly sweet and sour. They have a similar shape and chewy texture as raisins.

Common forms
In traditional Chinese medicine, goji berries are eaten raw, brewed into a tea, added to Chinese soups, or made into liquid extracts.

Goji juice is also available, usually in 32-ounce bottles.

Goji berries have appeared in snack foods in North America. For example, the health food store Trader Joe's sells a goji berry trail mix.

Possible drug interactions
Goji berries may interact with anticoagulant drugs (commonly called "blood-thinners"), such as warfarin (Coumadin®). There was one case report published in the journal Annals of Pharmacotherapy of a 61-year old woman who had an increased risk of bleeding, indicated by an elevated international normalized ratio (INR). She had been drinking 3-4 cups daily of goji berry tea. Her blood work returned to normal after discontinuing the goji berry tea.
Where to find goji berries
Whole goji berries are available at Chinese herbal shops.

Goji juice can be found in some health food stores, online stores, and through network marketers.

It should be:

IS IT POSSIBLE FOR HUMANS TO LIVE MORE THAN 200 YEARS?

Better, eh? I am flying to Tibet on Saturday to find Goji berries myself. Anybody wants to join me? I heard Tibet is one of the most interesting places to visit. This would be my escape to the world's financial mess.

No. You won't make it much past 105 or so. The creation is still in fallen times. It won't be like that forever though.

Re: IS IT POSSIBLE TO LIVE FOR MORE THAN 200 YEARS OLD?
Yes it is possible.

i'm not sure but i thought it had something to do with the DNA activation that your body wont age.(the DNA of most people are inactive)

And also, human bodies are designed to last 120 years i heard somewhere. So if you live healthy and have your DNA activated it should do the trick.

I am well aware of Genesis. Thank you. Granted, God took that away from us and modified our genes to live only for 120 years, I believe the genes that God injected us before Noah are still present somewhere in the modern humans. Proof was this chinese professor. This gene is still present somewhere in the human population.

Your thoughts?

The only way humans are living over 200, is when they start GENE Splicing.
 Quoting: HannibalTheCannibal

You mean like this?

Gene splicing is just what it sounds like: cutting the DNA of a gene to add base pairs. Contrary to the immediate image, however, no sharp instruments are involved; rather, everything is done chemically.

Chemicals called restriction enzymes act as the scissors to cut the DNA. Thousands of varieties of restriction enzymes exist, each recognizing only a single nucleotide sequence. Once it finds that sequence in a strand of DNA, it attacks it and splits the base pairs apart, leaving single helix strands at the end of two double helixes. Scientists are then free to add any genetic sequences they wish into the broken chain and, afterwards, the chain is repaired (as a longer chain with the added DNA) with another enzyme called ligase. Hence, any form of genetic material can be spliced together; bacteria and chicken DNA can, and have been, combined. More often, though, splicing is used for important efforts such as the production of insulin and growth hormone to cure human maladies. In the past, insulin was only obtainable from the pancreas of cadavers (and it required 50 cadavers to yield one dose!). With modern splicing techniques, enough insulin can be produced for all diabetics. The insulin-producing genes from human DNA are spliced into plasmid DNA; the plasmids are then allowed to infect bacteria, and, as the bacteria multiply, large amounts of harvestable insulin are produced. Splicing has other practical medicinal uses, too. In July of 1996, a 68-year-old woman became the first patient to be treated for arthritis (a disease which affects an estimated 2.1 million Americans) via gene therapy. At the University of Pittsburgh, therapeutic DNA that blocks the production of a specific protein (IL-1) that causes arthritis pain was injected into two of her knuckles.

BUt it is difficult for common man to understand this concept.

Re: IS IT POSSIBLE TO LIVE FOR MORE THAN 200 YEARS OLD?
I am looking for this guy who posted about composite DNA.
He is called "THE PINCH". He disappeared after some posts and never came back to elaborate about COMPOSITE DNA.
This was what he said:

Synthetic or replicated common cold virus with viral DNA removed and replaced with human composite DNA. Doesn't a take a rocket scientist to realize how it would work. Composite or average DNA? THink about it retards. The earlier in life you take the composite DNA the better it is. Guess what else this treatment would do? Theoretically you could live forever, but realistically about 26,000 years. Wow huh? Wouldn't that be awesome?

Re: IS IT POSSIBLE TO LIVE FOR MORE THAN 200 YEARS OLD?
I dont think his longevity had to do with berries. Actually when asked about his longevity this is what i found.

One of his disciples, the Taiji Quan Master Da Liu told of Master Li's story: at 130 years old Master Li encountered an older hermit in the mountains who taught him Baguazhang and a set of Qigong with breathing instructions, movements training coordinated with specific sounds, and dietary recommendations. Da Liu reports that his master said that his longevity "is due to the fact that I performed the exercises every day - regularly, correctly, and with sincerity - for 120 years."

They also found that he wrote this down which he gave reasons for his longevity:

Master Li Ching Yuen's answer to his secret of a long life:

* Keep a quiet heart
* Sit like a tortoise
* Walk sprightly like a pigeon
* Sleep like a dog
These things have to do with Qigong exercises/meditations not Gogi berries.

if its true about his age I think he was just a freak of nature. I say this cause there are thousands of chinese that practice this same diet and exercises religiously, especially up in the mountains of tibet. And by religiously i mean this is there whole life..they eat and breath this stuff and u dont see them living 250 years.

His genes must have been some weak remnants of people before Noah's time who used to live for more than 300 years. Still intriguing and thought provoking as I can't really imagine how a 300 year old human would look like. According to the bible, ADAM lived for more than 900 years. Do any of you believe it?
