My stupid question is, if the killer waves from the quake radiated outwards towards these countries in a circular motion, then would the tear in the ocean floor from the quake have to be circular in shape as well? I am asking this dumb question because the fact that these waves hit all the south asian countries in a 360 degree manner around it makes me curious, especially when people start pondering the possibility of an asteroid hit being the culprit for this.
