Op, not a big deal, really! Is only a "pain in the ass" for 10-15 secs. Better to be safe than sorry, have the physical. Advice though, make sure he/she has tissue in the exam room before the test is done. That lub shit they use is disgusting if you don't get rid of it before you pull yoyr draws back up, LOL Squish, squish! |

Just don't take the flu shot, but DO get a physical. You might need to address some issues.
Remember, when you are prescribed soimething (and you will be), tell her you want to do it on a test (usually 3 months) basis.
Meanwhile search that condition and also start taking the natural treatment. Usually this calls for a better diet, exercise and eating clean foods, and no processed shit. You don't want to stay on statins too long and/or blood pressure for too long. You will get addicted to it.
So help yourself and get professional help when you need it. Not all diseases can be cured with natural medicine. Some people really DO need pharmas, but most don't.
I work for a pharmacy, and most pharmacists don't take anything. They are all thin, healthy and are very active.

I agree with Nebulous.
I did the complete physical thing last year. I hate going to the doctor, any doctor. Anyway I knew my cholesterol would be very high. It always has been. I eat better than my husband, and am not as overweight, but mine is heredity I suppose.
I took the meds for a month. I did not feel well on them and decided to improve my diet, excersise more, and try some OTC, or natural stuff to help.
I have not told him I am not taking it anymore...annual is coming up soon. If it is lower, I guess he can't be too mad. But I didn't call him because I did not intend to take his advice on it anyway.

Agreed, no you don't, but, if you have confidence in your physician why would you not? He/she are looking out for your best interest. If you don't like what they have too say, get another opinion. I encourage my patients to do just that if they are unconfortable or unsure of the action plan or procedure that I suggest. |

Skip the physical and start seeing an alternative doctor. I work in the medical community and I never see a regular Dr that is on my prefered provider. I only see the MD's who have turned to real medicine. I eat about 98% organic, practice what I preach, do not take any meds. Anytime anyone sticks anything up your but hole there is a potential for complications....ie ruptures. These could be serious. If you don't know anything about medicine a good place to start would be about food and other toxins entering our bodies. But if you believe that your Dr. is going to "cure" you should he/she find anything, think again. If they find something, it is now on your record and if you don't do what they ask you to do you are considered "non-compliant". They will manipulate and manipulate. I know, I see it all the time. Stay away from all these quacks. By the way, anything on your record will be and shall be shared with all, ie your medical plan. When and if you ever need to apply for another medical plan coverage, you will have to disclose your diagnosis and this could affect how much you may have to pay in the future. Trust me, I am a pro at this. |

It means they'they need some extra income. He'll give you the physical, tell you he might have found something and that you need to get a bunch of tests to investigate further.
You'll be writing your will, thinking something horrible's going on for two or three weeks, then you'll get the test and they'll make you wait another week for the results. All this time you're wondering if you're going to die.
The test will come back normal of course.
Also, you absolutely have the right as a human being to not allow that guy to stick anything up there. He has to have your permission to penetrate you, otherwise it is rape. Just because he's a doctor does not make it okay, if you aren't interested in fearmongering homoerotic medicine you have the right to refuse! |

If you do everything your doctor says, you could end-up like the old folks in my family.
They all have insurance and they go for every test and procedure, exam that is recommended.
They have had body-parts removed, when they went-in healthy.
They have recieved postcards in the mail, (probably sent from some computer somewhere), telling them or sometimes even sceduling them without even asking, for tests, exams, etc.
Only to then spend months getting re-tested, or further tests, and operations etc. when sometimes I think it is the WALLET BIOPSY that causes the "illness". |

Blood tests are just a "photo" of the moment. A lot of alternative docs are using urine tests. 24 hour urine tests. Lets say you have something wrong with your prostrate, which is the test you seem most concerned with. You are probably over 40, more exact probably over 50 and have never been checked. Men, most of you will have prostate problems. So he sticks what ever up there and magically comes up with a diagnosis of enlarged prostate. I get one every 2 years, as my insurance allows. It's preventive. And a full physical usually does not include the finger unless you have symptoms that require such a procedure. If you have to have it done, it's really quick. Better than the alternative of having undiagnosed colo-rectal cancer.
Mostly its just weight, blood pressure, heart and blood work. Probably the grab and cough. Not a big deal.
If you have a good doc, they'll spend some time talking with you. So if you've had any nagging issues, be sure to ask since it's on the same dime. |
