Until 2006, the ARPCT pirates were the most successful, and the Puntland pirates were the lesser group. However when the UIC destroyed the ARPCT in June of 2006, they took out the ARPCT's main source of funds in August 2006 when they destroyed the piracy operation in Harardhere.
This is when the Puntland pirates operating out of Eyl then had no competition. Adde Musa, the president of Puntlant, gets a cut of 40% of all the piracy profits, and the pirates are all Puntland militia on government payroll.
Garowe is a 2 hour drive from Eyl, and it is beyond absurd to consider that they have no control over the pirates, but that's the line anyways. This is the game, the government that is "negotiating on behalf of" the pirates are not, the demands they are "relaying" are THEIR demands. It's government-sponsored piracy.
The pirates are US allies, believe it or not, and the US Navy turns a blind eye to their activities.
The UIC will be all to happy to help in combating piracy, and cut the support out from under their opponents. |

Then tell the Iranians to sue for peace, stop the Nuclear nonsense, and that if they do, the US will withdraw from Iraq. If not, they will get what they had intended for others.
Also, in return for saving their asses, tell the Israelis to knock off the War crap, stop screwing the American Taxpayers with their banking schemes, and start treating the Palestians like their brothers, which they are. |

I am very sick of after seeing more than 100 years of war for greed (read bankers and military/industrial complex) and for religious reasons (Communists; yes its a religion, neochristian, muslim, jewish, Irish Prots and Caths) and would like to see some real attempts to work together to solve the problems of the world instead of war which never solves anything and always makes the suffering worse.

In my medical training we were forced to "give" a few months to the national guard for possible inclusion in the military in the event of war. One of the "unique" courses we were forced to study was radiation sickness and it's symptoms from various types of exposure.
Being exposed to highly radioactive sand that would have to be shipped in lead lined sealed containers to be even partially safe in transit - would produce the following symptoms:
1. Flue like symptoms within 36 hours of exposure.
2. Hair loss ranging from mild to severe with an initial onset at about 5 days after the initial exposure.
3. 2nd and 3rd degree burns on the skin (worse where contact had been made - lighter burns further away from the hands or feet or whatever body part came closest to the material..
4. Inability to eat or hold down food. Dehydration. Increasing severity of same, followed by death at 10 to 14 days.
It could take longer if the exposure was a short duration at high levels. Or it could be accelerated if the exposure was at moderate levels for a long period of time. But the above are the average and expected time for onset of various symptoms.
Sadly, most of this could have been treated with various medications had the persons known that the exposure to radioactive material had taken place and when. Immediate medical care could have saved at least half if not more of the people exposed. |

Even if Iraq had possessed weapons of mass destruction (which we now know they did not), and even if Iraq had the long range ICBMs to reach across the Atlantic with (which we know they did not), Iraq would still not have been a threat to the US because any attack with a weapon of mass destruction would be national suicide.

Was it all a hoax, Mr. Bush? Did the American people foot a $5 trillion bill in 1950s dollars for a deterrent system that isn't really a deterrent?
Either the deterrent works or it does not. If it doesn't, then the American taxpayers have been defrauded on a grand scale. But if the nuclear deterrent does work, then Iraq can have all the weapons of mass destruction they want, they just won't dare use them. Maybe they can put them in a museum or something. But they won't dare use them against the United States because they don't want to end up like that piece of green glass at the top of this article. There is no need to invade over the issue of weapons of mass destruction. There never was. |

This article is such hogwash. You don't just sail a ship to the suez canal, blow it up, and then expect the dust to settle all over Israel. First off, where were the charges/detonators? How much explosives were found? What were the prevailing winds? Which way do they flow? How high are the winds in order to get dust to settle there? Also, dirty bombs are very unspecific. Not only would it hit Israel, but Lebanon, Syria, Greece, Egypt.
Finally, it's common knowledge that the DU from Iraq is settling all over Israel, but Iraq is east of Israel; the Suez Canal is west. This crap doesn't fly unless you're using the same physics as occurred on 911, and we all know who did 911.
