Seriously,
If this is true and Iran did plan to do this it poses some important questions.
Israel is a very small country.
The Palestinians, darling cause of the Iranians are perched on Israels outskirts.
If a dirty bomb such as this was successful at all it would have serious detrimental effects on the Palestinians as well.
Would this be Iran using the Palestinians as helpless pwns all this time?
It seems to me that the main gripe Iran has against Israel is the Palestinian question.
How does killing a huge number of Palestinians correlate with that view?
Or would the Palestinains realize what was up and willingly allow themselves to be martyred?
