how about a no brainer question-how much do you get paid?"

27 dollars an hour, time and a half after 8 hours, so 40 bucks an hour after 8 + 70 bucks a day for 'living needs' + 30 bucks a day for working with 'invert oil' lol i don't even know what invert oil is and i have no living needs, i get free room and board, and the food is amazing, best ive ever eating, steak night every saturday, turkey dinner with all the fixings every sunday lol.

works out to about 3300 a week before taxes.

usually you work 2 weeks on 1 week off, but you can stay longer, im going to work every day until just before christmas

not bad $$$$ for a high school dropout.

i was down to my last 100 bucks before i came out here. and i drove my 1986 k car 187km into the camp, down a gravel round, deep in the bush lol muffler was dragging for the last 50km but i made it and im living the canadian dream baby baby

I want to bring my entire family to northern Alberta to escape the Amerika police state. How much does it cost to live there? How much does housing cost? Food, etc.? Is it a police-state-free zone up there?

Re: im a grunt labourer on a Alberta oil rig, ask me a question
im not a newphie, born albertan, although there are lots of newphies working out west in oil cause there's no jobs on the east coast, mostly cool dudes.

i would assume an american can do the job as long as you're legally allowed to work in canada. if you had a skill that would help. they are searching for lots of labourers right now, entry level grunt job like mine just got a raise from 21 bucks an hour to 27 an hour to attract workers.

the other new guy is kind of a fat, im in good shape and strong but not a big guy, if you're super out of shape it may or may not work out for you, they'd probably give you a chance.

all you need is your h2salive ticket to get the job, takes 1 day 7 hour course.

this company hasnt even asked to see mine lol or given me a drug test or physical which is suppose to be required lol

the police state is here in canada, this is the nwo afterall. it's barely noticable in the boonies of northern alberta though.

the rig im on is actually pretty central, only about 2.5 hours from edmonton

bullshit lol no one on my rig does blow. ive been sober longer then ive been in a long time out here there's no booze or drugs, besides some of the guys smoking a little pot. some of the guys that have been working on rigs for years drink a bit. most of the camps have a zero tolerance policy and drug test. most of the drug problems were in the past, but yes there are some druggies out on the rigs(not this one), but i see more of that shit in the city by far then out here

Work in western canada in most area's in general pays alot of money. I heard many ppl who went from here in ontario out west to work on rigs to make a shit load of cash and bring it back to ontario where the cost of living is MUCH lower than out west. Car insurance alone is on average 2x more in western canada than ontario.

Hell I make 29 dollars/hr as an operator on a service rig here in Bakersfield Ca, My wife makes 27/hr working as a senior graphic artist.

I work 12-16 hr days in the summer and 10-12 hr days in the winter.

My wife and I together make close to 230,000 a year.

Can you get in on this. Yes... Floorhands in Bakersfield Start off at 23/hr plus 20/hr drive time which is 2 hrs per day. Also those two hrs start your workday so your getting paid overtime after only 6 hours and double time after 10 hrs.

Good thing about this job is I'm home every night with my wife.

On top of that Bakersfield has homes that would put Beverly Hills to shame. Just gotta know what part of town to find them in.

We live in a 3 bedroom house that we paid 80,000 dollars for 6 years ago. Its all we need for now.

Re: im a grunt labourer on a Alberta oil rig, ask me a question
My "gross" before taxes is only $8900 per week and I'm an anesthesiologist for God's sake. For that kind of money I'm putting people under and keeping them alive while the surgeon's do their thing. Oh and after taxes I take home about 40% of the gross. Maybe a little less. And if I get distracted, goof, make a mistake, administer the wrong drug or too much of the right drug - I'm fucked with a mal-practice suit and possible criminal charges! So going to work when I don't feel up to par, have a cold, didn't get enough sleep, etc., is just not an option. When I show up I have to be in great shape, alert, awake, able to concentrate and also able to stand on my feet for 8 to 10 hours at a stretch. Not always easy as I get older. My career will end when I cannot stand for those periods of time or when I cannot get myself into top mental and physical shape so I can maintain the level of concentration and attention that is requires. Probably at about 55 or maybe younger.

I should contact this place. Lot's less stress, no responsibilities, and they feed you, too? You ought to see what is available in a hospital caffeteria. Food ranges from awful to pure shit! Sometimes I wonder why they just don't serve it in garbage cans - 'cause that's where it's going to wind up anyway!

how about a no brainer question-how much do you get paid?"

I'm a driller in the colorado rockies. $32.50/hr. Seven straight 12 hr days. Floorhands start @ $24.75/hr. Very physically demanding and you must work in a high stress environment (my ass if the rig blows up). With a lot of dickheads.

No there are no drugs, we must take a pre-employment hair folical drug test going back 90+ days. Last year I got randomly tested 12 times.

The Wyoming Gov. has a job resource program with free training. They used to go to Michigan and hold job fairs to recruit workers, but those union folks couldn't cut it.
