Objects of this size would be expected to enter the Earth's atmosphere every few months on average but this is the first time such an event has been predicted ahead of time. Quoting: Anonymous Coward 123590

October 06, 2008
WASHINGTON – An asteroid measuring several feet
in diameter is expected to enter the atmosphere
over northern Sudan before dawn Tuesday,
setting off a potentially brilliant
natural fireworks display.
It is unlikely any sizable fragments will
survive the fiery passage through Earth's
atmosphere. The event is expected to occur
at 5:46 a.m. local time (10:46 p.m. EDT Monday).
"We estimate objects this size enter Earth's
atmosphere once every few months,"
said Don Yeomans of the Near-Earth Object Office
at NASA's Jet Propulsion Laboratory
in Pasadena, Calif.
"The unique aspect of this event is that
it is the first time we have observed
an impacting object during its final approach."
The small space rock, designated 2008 TC3,
will be traveling on an eastward trajectory
that will carry it toward the Red Sea.
"Observers in the region
could be in for quite a show," Yeomans said.
"When the object enters the atmosphere,
it could become an extremely bright fireball."

it's names ASTEROID 2008tc3. that means it's at least 10 meters across. if not they would have named it METEORITE 2008tc3. 10 is not a "few" by anyone's definition. if they lie about this, what to say they aren't really lying and the damn thing is 100 meters in diameter.
just by its name it has to be at least 10 meters in diameter. |

In europe there are no news about this asteroid... The asteroid is too small and will burn in Earth atmosphere and asteroids of that size impact Earth every 2 month.
So there is no doom here.
And I'm still waiting for that big alien mothership to appear in the skys today. (7th October) |

This is kind of strange and cool too. After visiting the website in the first post and seeing those green skies I immediately recalled my lucid dream last night. I remember I was seeing green clouds in the sky at north-west of me and 2 airships like UFOs( not big in size) that flew acroos the sky from that side as well, they were like jets. I also remember they had green color exhaust, don't know how that happened, but it looked like that. The strange thing is the color green, it was that same color from the photo. |

There are so many object undetected in the sky we could be hit by small to medium size any day.
If you new how many objects it would be frightning.

This is very small and really we have had many of these every year. Some seen some not.
