all the attention and B.S. on this thread is just ridiculous, you are really the lunatic fringe, this happens every couple months, just first time they have spotted an asteroid this small before it hits. Big whoop... nice little fireball in upper atmosphere, oh no doom! NOT!
I think it's only a big deal around here because of the timing, which is very suspect. I don't expect it to impact earth the way that we expect. Expect the unexpected. |

it's names ASTEROID 2008tc3. that means it's at least 10 meters across. if not they would have named it METEORITE 2008tc3. 10 is not a "few" by anyone's definition. if they lie about this, what to say they aren't really lying and the damn thing is 100 meters in diameter.
just by its name it has to be at least 10 meters in diameter.

normal shooting stars are about the size of grains of sand. this damn thing is at least 10 meters in diameter. this is gonna be huge imo. |

Just read the whole story.
This stuff happens all the time.
That's why you make a lot of money on asteroid hunting.
Even if this asteroid is iron and reaches the ground intact, the predicted impact area is largely uninhabited, and the danger to individuals is small.
