Russia has approved the loan. It is official. I do not know where the hell kind of sources you guys use. The Icelandic president stated that since the USA and U.K would not help us out in this crisis, we would look elsewhere for new friends.

How do you come out strong and independent when you are mired in debt? Maybe Russia has a surplus but if the Western nations go down they will too. China sells to the USA so there wouldn't even be a market there for Russian oil. Every country is tangled up in it. Most of them anyway. Russia still had to pay back her debt even after the country collapsed.

When I was there in 2001 there was an Indian restaurant run by a Pakistani in the Rejkavik downtown main street!Great food. Iceland is a fabulous place to vacation as long as the days are long enough. Great food, no pollution, everything geothermal. An amazing place and just 5 hours out of Minneapolis!
