work for Homeland Security do ya! or maybe NSA ? am I the only one that thinks this is funny ... guys sitting in washington DC posting to a conspiracy sight . . . Hey, did you guys happen to see a big huge aircraft fly over the highway and into the pentagon a while back ? Just curious!
Nope, sure didn't. Just as we didn't see any plane wreckage at the pentagon.

I know this is about chemtrails - but I can't resist asking, do the folks in DC talk about no plane flying over, or no plane on the ground? Have you ever heard anyone say it looked more like a missle ? DC is not a huge place - Well , thanks, and back to the chemtrail subject, unless that is a Korean or Russian airlne spraying over the capitol, I guess it must just be for weather. We have them here at least once a week now (Tennessee) |

Never heard anything about missile sightings. Although I know there are some mobile stations around various locations in DC. Did I understand your question correctly? |

I'm not sure what you mean. I was military. Now I am a civilian contractor who works alot with govt and military. |

Chemtrails are nothing but an internet myth.
Contrails can persist.
Contrails can persist and spread out into clouds.
Under certain conditions these clouds can take on many seemingly strange appearances.
Up to and including looking exactly like puffy little puppy dogs.

Yes - meaning rather than a plane, it was possibly a missle instead. Mobile missle stations? hmmm. For protection I am assuming. Then why couldnt they have been aimed to shoot down an incoming plane (on 9/11) ? ( There was a good 45 minute warning after the towers were hit.) OK thats the last q about that promise! I am "hijacking" a chemtrail thread, but cannot help be curious. thanks |

What is so funny? We were trained to spot ships and aircraft and observe their movements. We spent countless hours on the bridge of warships at sea doing this.
Now we both work near the Navy Yard in SE DC doing related work for the Navy. Believe or deny whatever you want. I don't care. |

I'm currently enlisted, sir. I'm glad you know how to spot aircraft, but am somewhat saddened that you don't understand contrail formation and persistence. I take it your degree wasn't in any of the physical sciences?

Only somewhat. My only educational background other than high school is EN "A" school, Aux Tech "C" school, and some gauge cal and QA classes. For all intents and purposes I'm just a curious and well-read layman. Here's my take on the "chemtrail" thing:
Jet aircraft fly all the time. Sometimes they leave short contrails that sublime in a matter of seconds. Sometimes there is no contrail at all. Sometimes the contrails linger, and drift and spread on the wind. What makes the difference is relative humidity. If the RH is low, there will be no contrail. Nearing the saturation point, contrails will linger longer, but still sublime relatively quickly. It the air in which the jet is flying is supersaturated with respect to ice, then the ice crystals condensed around the jet exhaust can't sublime, and will instead drift on the wind. Under these circumstances, the contrails are pretty much human-caused cirrus clouds.
The air is not uniform. Some areas over our heads are warmer or cooler, drier or wetter, than others. As you were watching the trails today, I'm sure you noticed that what appeared at first to be a solid, continuous trail would fade in patches, leaving dashed lines and patches of spreading cloud with gaps between them. I'm sure you also noticed that the patches that lingered were in the same general areas. This is an indication that the areas where they linger are supersaturated. The patches where they fade are due to a slightly lower relative humidity. Relative humidity is dependent on temperature, atmospheric pressure, and actual amount of dissolved water vapor.
When cold front is approaching, a low wedge of cooler, drier air forces warm, moist air upward, where it cools and becomes an area of supersaturated air. This supersaturated upper-level air is often ideal for the formation and persistence of contrails. These conditions are also good for the formation of natural cirrus clouds. When you see spreading, lingering contrails, it's usually an indication that rain will arrive in the next couple days. At least, it has been as long as I've been observing.

Interesting post, thank you. Do you think it's normal for them to linger for hours though? The person who posted regarding an "X" in Georgia looked exactly like the "X" we saw here in DC, pretty strange coincidence wouldn't you say? The "X" was the same in size and appearance. |

People can argue about chemtrails/contrail until the cows come home...they are this..they are that. However, what is important is the changes we are seeing..from what is in the air...to earthquakes...to the economy...things ARE changing...and we should take notice of the things that seem different.
