The problem is if all of the longs on the Comex demanded delivery it would be nigh unto impossible to come up with 50% of what is out there for delivery purposes. Thus those of you in this mode are after paper profits. This also allows the manipulators to skew the market any way they choose.

Those opting now for actual possession know that the Comex price has suffered a REAL disconnect in terms of actual possession and this will continue and widen as long as the current crisis continues well into next year at the very least.

My own take is get coins not bars. If we are talking about using this as a physical means of exchange bars are damn impractical.

it's actually day traders hitting any forum they can in an effort to produce a "spike"....you buy, gold spikes, they unload....when trading starts on a monday am low, they stock up.....it's called "pushing"......it appears the daily "tip point" is 1 1/2 to 2 %....watch the charts, and learn about manipulation by large holders.....it does garner them about 150% annually though....

Something is worth what someone else is willing to pay for it.

I cannot buy gold and silver coins locally, they just are sold out...if I want to buy on ebay, I have to deal in that market...and 1 ounce gold maples are going for about 950.00 a pop. Silver eagles between 17 and 20...I have not seen anything selling on ebay for POG plus spot...not in weeks.

If I was willing to buy gold, 950+ is what I would have to pay for it....It does not good for Kitco et al to post their prices at market plus spot...when they don't have anything to sell. (or, few and far between. Paper gold, and larger bars or either, sure...but try carting that massive bar to the supermarket or the farmer's market...)
