I already decided long ago, that when the poop hits the fan, I will be shooting all the types (mostly women) who presently make me want to puke. The 100 pound little princesses, peering over the dashboards of their F-350 Turbo-diesel 4X4 long-bed crew cabs, and using them as a do everything grocery-getter. The bitches with the perfect nails, hair, teeth, wardrobe, and accessories, without a care in the their make-believe little worlds. Between my hubby and I, we have some decent skills. He has the wilderness survival skills, and I have the old-fashioned homesteading skills.
My hubby started as a Boy Scout and kept building on those types of skills. He knows how to build shelters, start fires, hunt, fish, forage, etc. He knows how to live off the land, which plants are edible and which aren't. He's an excellent shot, proficient with weapons, and has military training. He's also extremely intelligent, very good at thinking on his feet, and calm in a crisis.
I grew up on a farm, and I've always had an interest in crafts, especially the old-fashioned ones. I know how to make soap and candles. I can clean a chicken, and I know how to cook from scratch. I know how to spin thread from fibers. I can sew, knit, crochet, and weave on a loom. I have my grandmother's knowledge of home remedies and herbal remedies. And I'm an avid gardener; I grow vegetables in the yard and sprouts and herbs in the kitchen. I am also reasonably proficient with a gun. I'm not anywhere near as skilled as my hubby, but I'm an accurate enough shot and won't be shooting myself in the foot.
I've learned a lot from GLP about storing food, solar stoves, purifying water, etc. Thank you to all of you who've posted such wonderful advice.
I must admit that my hubby and I are not getting any younger though, and I'm not in the best of health. I have asthma and get winded very easily, so even though I am otherwise fit, I could not run if I had to. Maybe I'll survive; maybe I won't.
If I do survive, I plan to help others to survive as well. I'll be happy to teach the youngsters who cross my path, everything I know, just like my elders taught me. |

Many of the women in this thread are blind with hatred. I never once encouraged raping or subjugating.
I am trying to wake up the feminist/oprah types with entitlement complexes.
The only thing protect you from bad men are good men. Most of teh man hating women are quick to impugn men in general but get their panties in a wad if men generalize about women.
Fact is a societal breakdown will be brutal on women who don't have the foresight to have good men in their sphere of influence.
