Gridkeeper, why don't you try to take some high resolution photographs of these things? The videos are too grainy, making it difficult to see what exactly we are looking at.

Yes, there is not much difference. I'm think you are onto something there and really would like to see more detailed, clear photos. Couldn't you hook a high quality digital camera up to the telescope?

Different cameras give different results. There have been a few broken ones and also money lost on ones which don't work as well. By the time the film has been taken from the camera and converted a couple of times then the quality is then drssstically degraded.
Also when I get a clip from John it is in the form of a flash file (I only sometimes get the original file). Now I use ulead to edit with and it doesn't accept flash files so I need a converter and a free one as i am unable to buy anything online and can't aford new software from a shop.
I used to use a demo converter which allowed me good quality up to 90 seconds which i earlier this year upgraded and now the demo doesn't give the good quality so i use the new FLV AVI free converter and convert the files at a 2000 bit rate and 50 FPS. This new AVI file then gets edited in ulead and saved as a pal dvd which is then uploaded to youtube.
So here I am trying to present what I feel are some of the most important images we have ever seen and i am doing it with shit. If onoe day i win the lottery then I assure you all that we will use the best equipment possible to show people what is expected from us. Maybe that will happen maybe it won't, I don't know.

These videos for years have been reported to have filmed by the musician Abbey "Bambi" Parker. I've been attacked about this many times yet we have all the original footage(some of which we have included into youtube videos). No one who claims to know Miss Parker has ever been able bring her forward to back up their accusations of video theft made against us. Also if she is a musician one would find her quite easily on the net yet no one has been able to do that.

I don't blame you for being confused over this issue as I believe the thread below was designed with that intention. There are outragous claims made in the statement which aren't true and can be proven. I have proved this on many forums but some still attack John and I and ignore any evidence we present by claiming that as we haven't disclosed how to film the objects that nothing else is relevant. I've seen similar shapes daytime, low altitude, cloaked in cloud vapors. Sometimes the grey to charcoal colored structures peek through. They can be brought out more with photo tuning. I've only caught one scout typed ship completely in the open, [link to picasaweb.google.com]

You are clearly getting some images at almost the diffraction limit of
your telescope. In the very sharpest images there are hints of diffraction
rings visible on the edges of the satellites. That is of course the
absolute limit of optical performance, and is only rarely attained.
Interestingly, the process you have, of using a high-quality imaging
system, with fast read-out, and then selecting the rare `perfect' images
is something which has been developed and applied somewhat by one of my
colleagues here. You might like to look at our local web page presenting

MIT Lincoln Laboratory - which is the group which has built some of the
things you are seeing. Much of what they do is what used to be the

There are of course many satellites in orbit, only a few of which are
anything to do with JPL, but these are readily seen by
astro-photographers like yourself all over the world.
You should just enjoy the excellence of your images, and make them
available as widely as is possible, through the public web-sites,
magazines, etc, so you can get the credit you deserve for your skills.

absolute limit of optical performance, and is only rarely attained.
Interestingly, the process you have, of using a high-quality imaging
system, with fast read-out, and then selecting the rare `perfect' images
is something which has been developed and applied somewhat by one of my

Star wars project, which no doubt involves some of your objects. They

related issues. It is distributed only to academic organisations, so
you may need to get your local library to borrow it, but you

I've seen similar shapes daytime, low altitude, cloaked in cloud vapors. Sometimes the grey to charcoal colored structures peek through. They can be brought out more with photo tuning. I've only caught one scout typed ship completely in the open, [link to picasaweb.google.com]

Thanks for the info. I bought my keyboard years ago with not much money so that's why it was crap. Got my first mixer from there and it was pretty good. Now I use a novation xio synth for the latest vids although i need to dust off the old JP8000 which has spent too long in the attic.
