Just found the need to have a "mydeathspace" comical didn't actually look at the site.

not true, I chopped my finger nearly off, and said "god, I wish I hadn't done that" left hand index.

God immediately popped into my head, giving the idea, that with superglue, and a rubberband I could avoid the $10,000 deductible on my really shitty insurance. I quickly gathererd the supplies, and awakenend my twelve year old daughter... Parts were getting slippery with blood, and between the alcohol and the blood loss... even god needs an instrument.

Now with the blood stopped, we sqaushed it back together, liberally apllied three tubes of superglue, (the one dollar pack from the dollar store)

For about two years that whole hand was weak, and my career as a hand model is over, but now it's as usable as ever.

Re: TOP TEN REASONS THERE IS NO GOD
The OP certainly isn't doing atheism any favors. But you must all remember that just because the person telling you something is an asshole, it doesn't mean that the person is wrong. Likewise, just because billions of people believe in a god, it doesn't make them correct.

The bottom line is that I was diagnosed at an early age with an above average IQ and I can't see any evidence for the existence of a god. I just see atoms spinning, joining, and smashing into each other. The wonder of it all is there, but I don't seek answers because I believe we made up the questions. The entire concept of the interrogative is merely a byproduct of sentience. Someday, we as a species will realize that it just doesn't matter.

Let's posit that I, and the other 4th of the world who don't believe are wrong and there IS a god, who created everything in existence. Why would he expect our devotion? Would he not value the intelligence that would require evidence for belief? The holy books claim he is a "jealous god", but why would you think that a being smart enough to create everything would possess one of the most petty and senseless traits of mankind? What the major religions are telling us is that they worship the asshole because he'll kick their ass if they don't. God can not be "just" if that's the case.

Since I am smart and I can't see god, why should I trust you or those YOU trust that they can see him? I don't think you really know any more than I do. You just hope. Hope so hard you feel it in your bones. No one wants to die. Your belief is the only thing that keeps you sane in the face of a limited shelf life. I say that I didn't miss life before I was born, I won't miss it when I'm gone. I keep hearing about people being in a "better place" when they die (or "pass on" as the saying goes), but every funeral I attend is littered with the sight of crying Christians. Why cry if you're going to see them again? I posit it's because, deep down, you know the truth. They're gone forever and it sucks. It does suck. Let's work on it. We humans have done so much in such little time. It's only a matter of time before we can stop death, but we need an unfettered scientific community. Stem cells, genetic modification, the whole nine yards. If we don't play god, who will?

OP is a douchebag because he insists he is correct to a point where he cannot be convinced otherwise.

He has already lost.

Sadly having to agree with you.

It really sucks, having to pretend you have a real god doesn't it?

Mwhahahahaha
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 518398

Hah!

I'm well beyond belief and exercising the true meanig of faith (knowing)

I don't have to pretend anything, I persue truth and get results accordingly.

Your adherance to God as defined by religions shows a pitiful lack of imagination.

Or are you just here for a fight?

Most of you are going to be real dam surprised one day..

You will wish you had did a study on GOD for 10 years of your life, before you run off at the mouth as you do..

God is Real, and the evidence of His perfect creation, speak well enough for Him.

But you will find one day that it is the GOD of Israel, as in Israel the people, as in the scattered 12 tribes. AND His name is JESUS, that is the truth.

Not the jew god, satan either..

You will find out soon enough, that I told you the truth.

Nothing.

The DOUCHEBAG OP thinks everyone who is posting believes in God.

I, in fact, do NOT believe in God.

I just am not a DOUCHEBAG by yelling at everyone who does.

Not all people are as "intellectually superior" as you, DOUCHEBAG OP, and many of them need some hope, some faith, to carry them throughout their days.

You, on the other hand, are probably void of either, and may very well be miserable.

I don't believe in God, but would not dare to aggravate one who does. Because when it really comes down to it, none of us really know shit.

Including you, you DOUCHEBAG.

LMAO! You don't see my point... I'm not christian, nor do I follow any set religion, nor have I ever been baptized or any of that. You post hateful worded things set to upset those who do have the faith and belief. You did it a little while ago on a different thread that had NOTHING to do with Christianity and I thought it funny enough to come see what you were about. I'm pointing out, you are making assumptions about others here without actually knowing their words. Sorta funny, really. Only someone blind by hate could do that.

Fiction is fun to read, but, religion in some ways is like D&D to me... highly amusing. I'm actually just highly amused that you figure you can get more flies with salt than honey...

 Quoting: Arboriel

there's quite a bit of evidence for "flooding" in many different parts of the world at different times. Most stuff people have put forward that I've seen has a tendency to, shall we say, contradict it happening world wide. If you've got evidence, that isn't religion based web site of some such, I'd be interested in taking a look, though. World wide flooding also tends to discount a couple things... continental uplift and not enough water on the planet to do the deed.

How are ya tonight, Arboriel?

Re: TOP TEN REASONS THERE IS NO GOD
I will say... as much as the topic is fought about and debated... someone is wrong and someone is right... which will never be concluded until one's death... when I suppose we all will know for sure. So it is by faith we believe, but with good basis for that belief.

At the end of the day, the battle is not here in this forum with words, for whoever can give a better rebuttal, but it is in each of us, and for something much more serious... our soul.

We are all without excuse and not one of us is good, no not one! (as it is written). So you must either hope that you are good enough or you better have a perfect substitute.

From this point, you decide. No one can persuade you or convince you to believe... that is why on judgement day, you stand alone... as each of us will, with no one else being at fault but yourself.

hrrmmmmm... maybe, just maybe... it's possible that there are more than one right answer? Possibly, is it what ever the person believes to be what happens post-mortum REALLY what happens to them and not what any one religion, person or computer bot says happens?
 Quoting: Geogal

correct...in addition, who says the truth comes when you die? and you find out all the answers? this 'show' you speak of at death is a continuation of our enslavement. as above so below right? well, we are enslaved below, no doubt about that.

In Big Dick's name, Amen.

the funny part is that it takes exactly one second to determine that a christian is posting because all rational argument stops and the cliches start flying. the guy said god gave him directions because he heard a voice in his head. well, that is your mind, it speaks in your head all day every day, get used to it. manson heard voices in his head that told him to kill, is that god? a voice in your head is not proof of god.

the numerous illogical contributions by christians fuel the debate that god does not exist. if he did, he would have made at least one of you intelligent enough not to ruin his credibility with your fanciful arguments.

so even if you die and you get your 'show' exactly how you wanted it, how does that make you free?

Read - for thy sustainer is the most bountiful one, who has taught the use of the pen, taught man what he did not know!
Nay verily man becomes grossly overweening, whenever he believes himself to be self-sufficient: for behold unto thy sustainer all must return.

Re: TOP TEN REASONS THERE IS NO GOD
there's quite a bit of evidence for "flooding" in many different parts of the world at different times.

Very well Geogal ;)

I know I sound like a broken record but the Sumerian Eridu text contains an "eye witness" acount of a gravitational "anomaly" causing a massive antacrtic ice sheet displacement causing one hell of a tsunami...you can guess the rest.

No, Arboriel, you don't sound like a broken record. a tsunami, even a fairly massive one, would only hit certain areas. A large enough ice sheet could, yes, flood a number of areas, but THAT flood would drain away fairly quickly, and would only hit areas within a certain "zone" of where the ice sheet broke, not the entire world.

Re: TOP TEN REASONS THERE IS NO GOD
correct...in addition, who says the truth comes when you die? and you find out all the answers? this 'show' you speak of at death is a continuation of our enslavement. as above so below right? well, we are enslaved below, no doubt about that.

 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 523175

WHere is my post did I ever speak of "free" at death or "enslavement" in life? Where did I ever say you get all the answers, truths or even find all the questions? As above (upper atmosphere) we already know not the same as below (bottom of the ocean) nor the same as outer space.

From what I can peice together it was a couple thousand foot wave that traveled up all the coastlines....

Cetainly not your 40 day rain out but a poplulation leveler non the less.

And ice age glacial tsunamis...now there's an interesting phenomenon!
"And though I believe in the ineffable glory of God, and though I might have experienced the undeniable reality of the Deity, and though I may know the secrets of the ages, these do not fulfill the Love in my heart. But to Change and Be and Do and dissolve both the subject of my person and the object of my God into the fluency of Empirical Providence. The Way, the Truth, and the Life."
