They need the race to actually be close to pull it off. Before they just had to pull off the scam in Ohio - 2004 Florida - 2000. But now Obama is tied or leading in 9 states Bush won in 04, and is winning by large margins in the states Kerry and Gore won. You can stick a fork in this election.. its done. Even many republicans are acknowledging this. Of course they already knew this going into the election, which is why they just threw mccain in as a sacrificial lamb.
