I know I have been trying to research it for years now. I don't think I would want to belong to their "group".
I can only go back as far as my great grandfather, on either side...And who really knows who my paternal great grandfather was...It looks like he had a different last name originally. Why did people change thier names when the came to America? He was possibly from Denmark. It baffles me.

Fool! Do a little research, and you will find the statistically we are nearly all connected just by going back six generations. Going back that far opens up a huge amount of ancestors do the Math.

What you will find is that most "lines" end up at blind alleys. The records destroyed, or people not have done enough, or stayed in one place to leave a paper trail. Most paper chases (or grave stones) fizzle out.

However, the best documented records belong to what we generally referred to as nobility. Tracing records far enough will always find their way back to these people, because they are the only ones to keep accurate records. This is why these people seem interconnected. It is NOT a conspiracy.

Yes, but you have to work up through the ranks so they can come to know you and your abilities and whether you can be one that they can control, should you have the ambitions to reach a high glory plane in politics. If so,

many woman, by the age of around 33 , are much much more matured than a man of this age (due to the biological fact; they have the kids)
