Rather more likely though is that these "much esteemed personages" are more an apt [and often inept] collage of malignant narcissists. They also have a fierce foot fetish ~ meaning you can kiss theirs til the end of time. That's the way of such insolent contagion seemingly. One might suggest correcting that bad habit. :-}

A case in point would be reading The Secret History by Procopius. He clearly nails this eclectic mob. Better than any fiction could ever do it. And that was nearly 14 centuries ago. Better catch up with him at long last, eh?
