flushing them is stupid for so many reasons. If these were fronted to him and they are high MG content extended release OCs its likely they were fronted to him and if he suddenly tells his dealer his dad 'flushed them' he could end up dead, seriously.

you need to ask him to tell you the truth and see what is going on, take them and put them in a safe or somewhere he will never find them and do not ask him if they were fronted. If he owes somebody money he will be the one to tell you because his life may be in danger.

DO NOT flush them and DO NOT go to the authorities, dont even offer rehab. if he starts getting flu-like symptoms a few days after being confined to your home then perhaps you should discuss rehabilitation, many states offer free clinics. go online and look up oxy witdrawal or opiates or oxycontin and show him how many lives his pills have destroyed.

Anyone with ZERO tolerance should never go past 40mg. The trial range is 10mg-25mg for recreation.

I can't tell you what to do about this, however if it were me I would hold my son close and love him as I never loved him before. He is young and over his head, and it is in times like these patience and understanding are most important.

OP is talking about Oxycodone, not oxycontin. These are like percocet, a mixture of oxycodone and acetaminophen. I think they mean there were 80 pills, not that they were 80mg pills. In this case the acetaminophen would probably kill someone before they got enough oxycodone in their body to kill.

That's OxyContin (time release)...

There are no straight Oxycodone (non time release) over 30mg...

Most (percocet) are either 5 or 10mg...

They aren't worth that much, they're fairly easy to get. Docs prescribe these for pain all the time.

What everyone is talking about with the 20, 40, 80 etc. is oxycontin, the time released version of oxycodone. It isn't mixed with acetaminophen. Only people who have used it a long time and built up one helluva tolerance can take an 80. A noober will die. Docs usually only give out these scrips for people in serious long term pain, like cancer patients who are dying - because addiction is the least of their problems.

If he has been taking these himself, by the handfuls, you may want to tell him he has been beating up his liver. He's probably too young to have sustained any serious damage, but years of tylenol abuse can easily lead to cirrhosis. Maybe you can get your doctor to run some liver enzyme tests and scare him.

What all you knuckleheads fail to realize in abusing these particular pills is that the tylenol is more dangerous than the addictable substances contained therein.

These kids are fooling around with these pills and alcohol which in combo with acetaminephen will turn your liver into a pile of mush in very little time. You can also get a lethal asthma attack from the tylenol alone
