What is this on satelite imagery - alien mothership, giant amoeba?
Hi,

I posted this on GFL thread, but thought I'd start new thread in the hope that I might get some reasonable answers as to what this is from someone who knows enough about satelite images.

I was looking at the weather and noticed a strange shape ( see below link) over western europe on satelite imagery. Of course, I'm sure it can be explained by someone with an understanding of satelite imagery, so am hoping someone can explain what it is. I checked the other european locations on the website (you find the other european locations in left margin) and western europe is the only one that shows this obvious shape. It can't be that the shape is outlining western europe since, for example, the whole of spain is not covered by it. Also none of the other maps outline the area of coverage. I also wondered if it is some wierd cloud formation, but it is still the same 7 hours since I last checked.

So is it showing a lightship or giant floating airborne amoeba or is there some techincal satelite imagery explanation? Also someone pointed out that the right side of it is also shown in the satelite imagery for mediteranean.

I see nothing. Either I am blind or you are the giant amoeba. I guess the latter is more apparent.

sounds convincing, except it doesn't explain the clouds outside that area

Good point, there are clouds outside that area. Hope someone can offer a logical explanation for this?

Maybe it IS the mothership and it has its cloaking device on. They realised us humans just aren't ready yet, but have had a system malfunction and can't move!
