VOUCHERS???

So you will pay our kids to not get educated ??? Well, hells bells !

What are voucher actually working towards? I really want to know, I am not set in stone.

Not too cool. vouchers (for those of you who don't have a clue,) are a way to send your child to the school of your choice while taking advantage of govt funding through vouchers. Many people have lost faith in the 'public school' system and want to send their children to private and/or religeous schools. Vouchers and charter schools sidestep things like politically connected (Democrats) teachers unions and substandard education via union protection.

Vouchers after pAYING TAXES ARE A VERY GOOD WAY TO GIVE US ALL choice and Dems are dead set against it.
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 430047

+1 on the vouchers = good.

Made a helluva difference when people here had a choice. Not only did we get vouchers but "school of choice." Meaning if another school IN THE DISTRICT had space, you could send your kid there but you had to provide your own transportation. IF your kid's SCHOOL was at or below the failing level, deemed a "dangerous" school (documented fights, drugs, gangs, etc.) the SCHOOL had to provide the transportation to wherever you wanted your kid to go within the district. Vouchers mean the kid's "stipend" goes with him if he leaves. The public schools don't like that because it impacts their budgets.

Oh ya. You want to see your local school board squirm? Pull out your kids along with the fat checks the government sends to the school for having them around. Suddenly, standards and discipline improve, the place gets cleaned up, learning even starts to take place. It's quite amazing how TAKING MONEY AWAY FROM THEM RESULTS IN BETTER PERFORMANCE THAN DOES GIVING MORE MONEY TO THEM.

Who'd a thunk it?
