Greetings glpers,
I am a student at georgetown university in Washington DC, and last night I was walking through the capitol gardens. I walked over to where I had a good view of the white house, and I noticed a bright light hovering above the white house. i tried to get a little closer (secret service doesn't allow yo very close to the white house at night) and noticed the light was coming from some weird triangular thing with a bright light on the front and several smaller lights. I thought it was a helicopter at first, but it didn't make any noise, and as I got closer I realized it was definitely not a helicopter. I couldn't get as close as I would have liked, but it looked to be metallicish. I took a few pictures, but I was using a handheld video camera that doesn't take very good stills, and this was the only one that turned out at all. I had to mess with the camera settings and hold it perfectly still to even get a picture of the relatively low quality i have.
I tried taking video, but I had a bunch of concert footage from a concert I recently attended, and I was out of memory.
I have no idea what it was, but it wasn't a helicopter. I googled "UFO" when i got back, and after following a few links I found this one and figured I'd post the picture. I am sure there is a perfectly plausible explanation, but I will leave it to you guys to figure out. I don't know what I'm talking about when it comes to UFOs

That is really cool, too bad the picture didn't turn out well.
When you saw this, can you describe any feelings you had? Were you feeling a since of fulfillment in joy, peace, love... with a lighter-than-air lightness joyous, with excitement? Did it change shapes? Did you notice anyone else around you who saw it too? Did it have any movement? UFO's can quickly zig-zag in their flight, making a distinct difference between man made air planes or choppers.
I've recently seen a UFO over the Columbia River near Portland, Or., which reminded me first of a balloon because it was silent. It traveled West to East, changed shape and then left my vision. The problem with a balloon theory, was usually we have very strong winds that are West bound, there also wasn't any wind that day too.
Way cool, there's been a discussion about a UFO being visible 10/14 - 10/16. That'd be great if you saw the announced sighting!! |

I bet it does have something to do with the October 14-16 arrival! It makes sense that they would go to the White House, they would probably want to talk to world leaders first before appearing publicly for everyone |

Oh sorry i wasn't logged on when I posted the previous thing - but what you pointed out makes sense.
Also, it moved erratically, before moving very quickly to the north. no sound, but I did feel a weird feeling when I saw it, almost like a mix of excitement and happiness, i don't know why. |

Nice photo, OP. Looks like you caught two, the big one and a small one to the right. Very nice. If you spend a little time every night, early night hours, you would probably see many nightly.
I have a few albums of daytime cloudships, and night time UFO blinkies. The big one you got over the White House isa type that would usually be seen cloaked in cloud vapor during the day.

Dansteele! Read my earlier post if you haven't already. That is a sign this is a UFO, with the feeling you have. Phoenix Lights video also said the same thin, there wasn't any fear, only excitement, love, and peace when they saw the UFO's over Az. |

that sounds right. I left georgetown on a bike ride at about 2:00 (I just like to ride my bike around at night sometimes, its relaxing), so i probably was there around 2:30 |

I'm seeing that this picture is only fireworks wich haven't fully opened.. u see that too? 'couse there is coming another one from behind that so called "White house"
