People like me? Why, whatever do you mean? I don't need others hard earned money. If I need something, I work for it. When I can afford something, I don't buy it.

If I am given too much change at the grocery store, I don't think to myself "Oh well, I need it more than the chain store does", and put it in my pocket, I give it back. Most of all, I don't begrudge anyone from keeping what they earn.

the extra tax does not include the initial 250k. lets say you make 251k only the 1k will be taxed. in other words you will get taxed on money greater than 250k.

a persons business doesn't go from 0 to 100 in one year. most businesses don't break even until the end of the second year. lets say it takes 5 years for joe the plumber to make 250k. filed taxes for 4 years would have tax breaks pased on income. so joe plumber has gotten a break in the last 4 years. now he makes more and gets to give a little back to the system.

again, i don't think it would be very difficult to set up a method, where, tax payers who refuse a tax refund can do so with a check of a box. then they can maintain their purity. they will not have to take hard earned money from that that do.

unfortunately, you have to realize that the fundemental dynamics of our economic system is in ruins. that means that, everyone in our country, that uses united states dollars as a means of currency, are going to feel the cold winds of recession/depression.

only one of the many things, but a significant action to avoid our recession into becoming a depression, is trying to preserve the middle class. the middle class is disappearing at a pretty brisk pace. if the shrinking of the middle class is allowed to continue, america is in danger of becoming a solicist, or facist government and both extremes will make our constitutional america disappear.


so, please understand, you may not be one of the people that need saving. and you are not one of the people that have lived: "pride goeth before the fall". but they are out there and they need help and i don't mind helping. because in the long run it is one step closer to making a stronger america. people that can work and be productive and maintain a stable family life is beyond monetary value. they help build good stable communities. and that strengthens our country for all people. those who make above and below 250k

Please understand what I take exception to. That is Obamas remark that some how people who work so hard and earn $250.000 can now live "high on the hog" and that that is "not fair".

I have nothing but admiration for people with that kind of drive, people with the courage to take risks and start something with their skills or imagination and make a great living for themselves and their families. To me it is very fair, and the should enjoy the fruits of their labor.

I feel we all have this opportunity, so why pick the pocket of someone who has earned it?

i don't see it as "picking the pocket of someone who has earned it", i see it as "taking the burden off of those who are the least able to afford it".

i don't see this as class war. them against us. have versus have nots. i see this as trying to make america as strong as possible. we are only as strong as the people. the middle class is the unit of measurement for a sound democracy. during these hard times the middle class need to be nurtured, not allowed to slip into oblivion.

it's more than just a "money" thing, it is a "america must survive" thing.
