Anyone know about rheumatoid arthritis?

Sorry to hear about your disgnosis. I know from doing some research for my mother(who was recently diagnosed with scoriatic arthritis) that the common thread between your two diagnoses is that they are both autoimmune disorders. I came across an excellent book during my research and I think it might be a helpful starting point for you in your research. It's called, "The Autoimmune Epidemic: Bodies Gone Haywire in a World Out of Balance--and the Cutting-Edge Science that Promises Hope" I relly liked the fact that the author delved deeply into environmental triggers for autoimmune problems as well as discussing vaccinations as a possible trigger.

I was exposed to some chemicals a few days ago ... I wonder if that's what set it off.

I was also exposed to many chemicals when I was a kid. My family owned a factory.

Wow, I didn't realize you were that young. I'm really sorry to hear about that. Considering the fact that you have so much chemical exposure in your past, this book will be spot on for you. I wish I had some more helpful advice...

This is probably the early stages of the desease get to a doctor as soon as you can and find out for sure. It will destroy your joints pretty quick if untreated.

Excellent idea. I had a spat of rhrumatoid arthritis..and I was able to cure myself in six weeks. But first I was in a wheel chair and told I would never get well. Here's how I got well:.

went on a dairy free, meat free and oil free diet. Totally raw foods just fruits and veggies. maybe a little raw milk yoghurt and pure olive oil. Absolutely no sugar, white flour or processed/cooked foods of any kind. I just carried a bag of carrots and/or apples with me and at pot lucks or outings, always carried a peeler with me. I had a lot of avocados too.
If you are able to forgo all the poisonous processed cooked and sugary foods you will be rid of your illness in less than two months.
Also some people get arthritis from foods in the nightshade family. I have cut all those out permanently, but now do eat cooked foods and a little whole grains. The terrible swollen and inflamed joints never did come back.

You might also look up Dr. Joel Wallach.

He claims that RA is treatable with a low dose of older anti-biotic course for about 6 mo's and proper nutrition and supplementation.

Sometimes you can even call and speak to him directly on a radio show he has outta CA, but I don't have that # on hand.

You really need to check out Doug Kaufman's site. I think he's really onto stuff like this. He says most of our problems are caused by internal fungus.

OP you say that you are into natural health and diet...well, you may want to try Mangosteen juice. An elderly lady, 94 years old, had sever arthritis in most of her joints and tried Mangosteen juice after I recommended it. You have to make the decision to get well and you have to be willing to cut off all the poisonous modern foods that we all so love. Drink lots of pure water--no coffee, tea and especially no soft drinks, and just buy a large bag of apples and a lot of carrots. Peel and eat whenever you feel hungry.
I remember when I had my attack I lost my appetite. After I ate only raw foods for a few days, I started to get hungry again. Just stuff yourself with celery, avocados, etc.
You will be amazed at how quickly you will feel better!

I don't know much about rheumatoid arthritis except my dad had it and he hurt so bad that any movement on the bed, it would hurt. He got over it, though.

Once my blood test came back with a trace of it and I can no longer donate blood.

i was diagnosed with RA when i was 14, technically juvenile rheumatoid arthritis. coincidentally, i was own a school trip outta town when my knee swelled up about twice its normal size, don't remember any pain, but it was literally locked up so the doctor couldn't even force it to bend. spent a couple days in the hospital while they tried to figure out what was going on. they had thought it was rheumatic fever, then they thought they heard a heart murmur, but apparently that had to do with RA.
i took naproxen(sp) for the first couple of years, but after a lil while it didn't help at all so i quit. it affects my entire body which ensures i'm always in some sort of pain. i don't like taking medicines for long periods of time, so the only medication i'm on now is tylenol arthritis when i can't tolerate the pain. oh yea, started taking Osteo Bi-flex also, it takes a little while for it to start helping, like 1 week to a month, but it does help.

forgot to add, it's genetic too, one of my uncles has it(coincidentally i'm named after him.) diagnosed around the same age. his knuckles are about 1" thick. although he's a carpenter and refused to do anything about it while he was young.

My 70+ year old father has suffered from R arthritis for over a decade and was in so much pain that the Doctors had him on Methatrexate (sp), a very dangerous drug used to treat cancer.

His joints would "buckle" and freeze, and he would have pain (gas bubbles between joints) that would almost drop him to his knees.

While visiting me recently, he started taking colloidal silver at my request because he was feeling ill. He lives in east end Houston close to chemical plants, and he rode out Ike. The pollution in that area post-Ike is really bad, and he was experiencing respiratory issues when he arrived at my house (well away from Houston).

I only gave him 2 oz CS per day (one oz in the AM and one oz early evening). This is considered a maintenance dose, by the way. Treatment doses are up in the 4-6 oz per day range.

What he discovered in three days was 95% relief from his arthritis, returned strength and full dexterity in his hands and total clearing of his lungs (being in my neck of the woods probably helped). He had me purchase a generator kit for him before he left because he wasn't going to be without the CS.

He stopped his Methatrexate three weeks ago.

You are only 44 and too young for this to happen....then how would you have felt to have been 12 and been diagnosed with rheumatoid arthritis...I was...and I am almost 70 now...

I am affected by arthritis at 42. I think comes from crashing motorcycles and damage to joints. Maybe not same thing (?)

yep. it is an auto-immune disease. i have Grave's disease which is in the same family. this thread has been eye opening so I too thank everyone for their input!

PS: when you go fresh & raw... does that include fruits? i ask because you said no sugars field...

Brush your teeth with toothpaste that doesn't have fluride.

Use deodorant that doesn't have aluminum (TOM'S OF MAINE).
Get rid of all your plastic storage containers - buy glass.

Since your skin is the largest organ in your body, choose a natural soap wisely...no chemicals, etc. and totaly natural.

Choose a shampoo that is also organic with no chemicals added. Since your scalp/hair will absorb what you put against it, put something organic against it...

Do NOT use skin creams that have chemicals added to them. This includes most skin creams. The cream is absorbed into your bloodstream. Be carefull what you use as cream. Organic coconut oil/organic olive oil seems best for skin.

Bottom line - think outside the box. Know all the products they want to sell you will only make 'them' money. Get naturl, be natural, enjoy your place in ordering 'natural' products. And again, think outside the box.Remember how you were raised, what foods YOU ate.

Take Excedrin and take a lawn chair into the shower and blast those keens with hot water for a while. Hot as you can stand it. Do those sessions a couple times a day until the swelling goes down and then the pain will go away.

Sorry you have that. Did you go to a doctor? You should.

See if your copper levels are low - ask to be tested for HLA-B27...

Read it could be a corn allergy....
