The only reason I can possibly see for going to a movie theater any more is if you have a date or something. Then you don't have to walk out, just change the channel. |

I was with my girlfriend, and there was a scene of a hysterical Iraqi woman being shot point blank by a soldier real nonchallant. it was without warning and very graphic. I didn't ask for money back. that was ten years ago. I don't generally go to see movies, these days. I only went then, for something to do |
if so, why? (OP) User ID: 339658 United States 10/22/2008 05:06 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | yeah i am a stay thru to the final credits filmgoer and i have never walked out of a movie ~on my own~ but as a young teen, my mother hauled me out of tron in disgust. maybe the plot was too complicated for her? ;>) namely as i can't stand to throw good money away which makes me very choosy bout my films in the first place i do recall *lots* of disgruntled patrons as we left blair witch, many mumbling about wanting refunds my mother was militant about walking out if things displeased her. she also marched out of young frankenstein and terms of endearment. the abortion subject pissed her off i guess. to this day i have no idea what got her so upset at y.f. |

LOL! True that. Movies SUCK. I had 50 free dollars to spend at Best Buy... Could not find one damn good movie to buy... Settled for Dave Matthews live and a cool coffee table book about the life of BOB MARLEY. |
Anonymous Coward User ID: 532357 Spain 10/22/2008 05:13 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | yes. ALL THE TIME! a family relation of mine books all the movies for a national chain of cinemas here in the UK so I see all my movies for free. some are just too awful to sit through. step brothers semi pro stealth swat inspector gadget cloverfield the proposition the bank job spiderman 2 rancid aluminum pirates 3 are a few recent ones I remember walking out of. we even walked out of a couple of premieres in London: kill bill 2 meet dave I normally give them a fair shot before leaving and claiming my free beer or cocktail with my coupon. life is too short to waste on bad cinema even if it is free. |

if so, why? (OP) User ID: 339658 United States 10/22/2008 05:15 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | i have gone to see three movies this year so far 1. body of war 2. battle in seattle 3. hunger ( film fest ) hardly what i call mainstream there i don't 'do' most commercial films, prefer docs. never assume i just saw flags of our fathers on dvd at my library for free that one, i regret not paying to see at the box office the filmmaker deserved the money for that one i only saw pirates and elizabeth as 'first runs' last yr. i own '4' dvd's worthy to sit on my shelf so no if i am going to a movie, i 'want' to be there. |
