Small pox vaccine was given and the vaccine produced a pox which left a scar. Some people's were quiet large, getting larger as they grew. Small pox was eradicated and the vaccine was discontinued in the US in 1972. My scar is extremely small and I would have to bring a magnifying glass to school each year so the teacher could see it during the "check" If you were raised on a farm around cows or drank raw milk the vaccine which wouldn't take due to your exposure to cow pox
