It would be impossible to ban religions.

Everyone has a god. Everyone has a belief structure. Everyone has thought.

You can't ban ignorance. You can only re-educate.

Yes! I totally agree.

Religion is nothing to faith. It's about money and power for the top minority. Look at the Pope, why doesn't he practice what he preaches and give his ridiculous wealth to the poor? huh?

It will happen. Someone will wake up to the fact that wars are started in the name of god. Take away tax exempt status and where are the churches? Have people without food, shelter, clothing... and churches filled with gold and jewels and what will you have? The time is coming, it's not too hard to see. John Lennon saw it...

Indeed. It's a shame that people can't see through the hypocrisy of religion. The world would be a much better place without religion. We can only wish.

Actually, I think it should be just the opposite.

EVERY religion should be not only allowed, but celebrated and taught to everyone in the world.

It's not the religion's that are causing the problems. It's the way people react when folks don't support what they believe in.

What SHOULD be done is discourage in the STRONGEST terms, ANYONE who berates ANY religion in favor of another.

its bad enough we lie to our kids about santa / easter bunny/ tooth fariy, etc....

i sure as hell wouldnt want to make it mandatory to brainwash them with the lies of religon, at a young age ...

they are already bombarded with enough lies, propagndas and useless info..

in fact, a argument could be made, that many nations/ empires fail becasue the people and governemtns in those societies, embrace and believe in to many lies/ propagandas....

nazi germany and Hitler are a perfect example...and there are many more examples...

truth, really is the enemy of everything evil..IMHO...

Re: Would the world be better if religions were BANNED ?Quote

The problem with all religions are the people. Really, the problem with the world, is people.

Stop and think, every morning most of us see ass holes on the rode, and assume that most people on the road are ass holes. Statistically, we only notice the aberrant drivers, as the rest of us are in our lines... sheeples... (~%90).

I would surmise that this proportion holds true in all of life. No matter where you are, or what you're doing, %10 of everyone around you is an ass hole. Mostly, we realize this, but get upset when we see an asshole at temple, mosque, cathedral or church.

At least %10 of those on GLP... ass holes (oh oh, mee first!!!)

the middle-eastern monotheistic death cults have been for
oh, a COUPLE THOUSAND YEARS the biggest problem with humanity
moving forward.

the entire species, for the most part, creates its own 'glass ceiling'.

sad.
