I noticed the black widow dress also.... I think the designer of the dress intended it to mimick the spider, but that Michelle is just too much of an urban dweller to know any better .... |

Stupid comment about "reverse" of black widow. Black widows are black with a red hourglass ... just like Michelle's dress. Do some checkingon Google Images before making more stupid comments. |

I was going to start a thread on that also. What was with that dress? You know damn well she gave it a lot of thought for such a historical occasion. I didn't put the black widow thing together, but she is definatley making some sort of statement, the question is what. |

Yes well..They are trying to tell you something..Since we are HALF THEM in this place....
See folks..Things are not what you think..You don't get what this place is...You can't SEE the TRUTH if your EYES ARE CLOSED...Someone has to attempt to WAKE US..
And there are MANY of those somebodies AWAKE all around US and attempting to give those that will get it all a clue...
Also...When Obama gave his speech after winning..Notice how they showed the view from BEHIND...His SHADOW of his BACK in the white circle/spotlight....

The colors were a sign or mourning, in some parts of Africa red is a color of mourning, and we already know black is a color of mourning. |

Black Widow Spiders are extremely poisonous arachnids (not insects). Their venom is 15 times as poisonous as the venom of the prairie rattlesnake. These venomous spiders are found in warm and temperate climates all around the world. They live in dark places, in drain pipes, under logs and rocks, etc. in North America from Florida and California to southern Canada. Their bite rarely kills humans.
The female will sometimes eat the smaller male after mating. She will lay 300-400 eggs. The spiderlings (baby spiders) are not poisonous but they are cannibals, eating each other.
Diet: Black Widows eat flies, moths, crickets, small reptiles and other small animals. Their fangs inject venom and digestive juices into the prey. This kills the prey and also liquifies its flesh, letting the spider eat it easily.
Anatomy: Females (about 1 1/2 inches across) have a black body with a distinctive red hourglass shape on the underside of the abdomen. Males are smaller (about 3/4 inch across) with longer legs and red and yellow markings. The females are much more poisonous than the males. Black Widows have a two-part body, strong jaws, poisonous fangs, and a hard exoskeleton.
Webs: Black Widow Spiders use silk to make tangled-looking webs, usually near the ground in dark places. The tips of the spider's legs are oily; this oil keeps them from getting trapped in their own webs.

I didn't connect it until you pointed it out. Yes! It is a black widow spider dress. Ee-gad! This is our "first lady"???
Every time I have seen her, I have wondered why she wears such horrible looking clothes. It can't just be a race thing ... I have seen many blacks who dress extremely well. The dress she wore for her acceptance speech at BO's candidacy reminded me of something one would buy at Walmart.
BO always dresses well. One would think his wife could pick up a few fashion tips from him.
sigh Eight years of an idiot who doesn't know how to make a speech. Now I guess eight years of a first lady who is a fashion embarrassment.
Well, if BO does some of the things he has promised ... namely bring our jobs back to US soil ... I guess we'll have to put up with his wife's poor choice in fashion. sigh.

I gasped when she walked out and heard two of the PBS commentators in the background saying omg that's awful. It is a given that she has a clothing consultant. All senators and their wives/or husbands do - I am at a loss as to why she was allowed to dress in something that resembled a black widow. If she was dressing to morn O's gmom, red was not appropriate but a simple black suit or dress would have been. Having been involved in film at one time I also know the 1st rule is to never wear red on live television. It has shocked me. |
