The fish symbolizes deep knowledge and the bread (leaven) symbolizes (according to dictionary) something that modifies or lightens.

So it was spiritual food for the multitude.

The fish was sacred to the Greco-Roman mythology, where it held symbolic meaning of change and transformation.

Two fish are pisces, and represent the soul and spirit of a person.

Five loaves are the five senses, that one must overcome in meditation.

Its basically a rehash of the golden calf story for the new aeon (old now).

The two fish represents the "new testament". This is the message of the AGE of Pisces.

The five loaves of bread represent the "old testament", the five books of "Moses".

"Jesus" was feeding the multitude with the Torah and the New Gospel.

"He" was ending the old "bond AGE" and beginning the new "bond AGE".

"He", symbolicly, threw the Ram's horns out of the temple and brought in the "Sign of the Fish".

"He" was the new "Moses", just as "Moses" threw the golden calf out of the temple and brought in the ram's horns. "Moses" was skilled in all the ways of the Egyptians, he ended the "bond AGE" of the golden calf(taurus) and ushered in the "bond AGE" of the ram(aries).

As above, so below.
On earth, as it IS in heaven(not as it WAS).

Don't look back, don't turn back, don't be left behind practicing the ways, AND LAWS, of the old "bond AGE".

Yeah, well, he could have taught that food trick. There are plenty of people that could use something like that some days. Plus, the fish might appreciate not getting pulled out of the ocean when all we'd need to do is whatever jesus did, and a few fish and loaves would feed a small town.

The story may only symbolize the act of generosity. In the mulitude there were those who had and those who had none. By breaking bread and sharing we were all open to that exchange with our neighbors. So the crowd was fed and the story continues...

Simple. It was fish and bread. The masses were hungry and the One who I belong to, He did not want them to go hungry.

Exactly. In their heavy robes people of that time often carried in their large pockets with them dried bread and fish for meals as they traveled. What we see in this story is everyone sharing what they had.

Notice how in this painting the "golden calf" is in the "heavenly kingdom" of God. It is the constellation of Taurus.

it was the birth of late night tuna sandwiches when you are tweaking and there is nothing left to snack on apart from tuna and bread.

The five loaves represented the 5 books of Moses. The people were fed bread in the wilderness with Moses. The two fish represent the two divisions of the Old Testament, the Law and the Prophets. What they met on the hilltop was the fulfillment of the Old Testament. Christ's death and resurrection was the "real bread from heaven" for a lost world.

We see a similar theme in the pool of Bethesda in chapter 5 of John. It was a pool with 5 porches divided down the middle with one porch (5 books of Moses then two divisions). The two fish can also represent Moses and Elijah (The "TWO") who symbolize the Law and the Prophets.

John is specific in saying two small fishes... The crowd was just like us today. All they saw was tunafish sandwiches...

it WAS hunger that it all symbolized but it was SPIRITUAL hunger that Jesus was offering to cure for them... they didn't get it so a lot of them left him... God is in the habit of answering with a lot more than what we ask for. The Samaritan woman wanted water, Christ offered Living Water; The crowd wanted bread, but Christ offered the True Manna.
