Has anyone had Toxic Mold in their home? | |
Anonymous Coward User ID: 480242 United States 11/11/2008 09:54 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Leave your residence for at least three weeks, though four would be better. Do not take any linens or furniture with you as mold spores stick to everything. If you feel better and have the start of relief from your symptoms it is very likely you are with either allergic to something in your home or you have a toxic environment. Don't mess around, both of my in-laws are living on oxygen because toxic mold destroyed their lungs. |
KnowingYouNow User ID: 513967 United States 11/11/2008 10:02 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Why did you ask about mold? Have you all found any in the home? If you do, it is not something to take lightly. From personal experience. My brother in law bought a house, that had the stuff all over it. It was before all the news reports and things had come out about it. The smell would just about knock you out. And when he didnt keep the walls clean, it would literally start growing up the walls. After living there for two years, besides the respiratory issues, it also caused mental problems. He became paranoid, and delusional, and eventually, committed suicide. It devastated the family, it happened so fast. They were in the process, of trying to get him committed when it happened. This is in a guy, with no previous mental illness, or mental illness in the family, and who was past the age for typical onset of schizophrenia. About six months after his death, I saw a report on the mold, and how in severe cases, the spores can move past the respiratory tract and into the brain, causing delusions. We miss you Jeff. |

Stabbing pain in the corner and on top of my eyes. Fatigue, memory loss, confusion... and many other things. Please has anyone out there suffered from these symptoms too with a diagnosis? My docs just keep saying it's a lung issue and do NOTHING about it!!!!!!!!!!! I'm at my wits end! I truly feel like Im going to die from my asthma. Yep. We had to move to a new home and leave much of our belongings behind. I found this website to be very helpful. [link to mold-survivor.com] |

Anonymous Coward (OP) User ID: 543844 United States 11/11/2008 10:39 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | I lived in a house that had mold inside the walls for several years. During that time and ever since, I've had breathing problems. Asthma (which I NEVER suffered from before) allergies, chronic bronchitis AND emphysema. All contracted, I'm sure, from that home. My doctor at the time kept giving me antibiotics and telling me I had bronchitis and to stop smoking. My lungs were full of mucous and I had a terrible cough. I was beyond tired but I also have fibromyalgia and nerve damage so I wasn't aware that mold could cause the same symptoms with the burning in the hands and feet, pain, etc. I finally was able to move out but had to bring many of my things with me (how do you throw away everything that you own?). I switched doctors and now see a pulmonary specialist who is the one who informed me that I had asthma, emphysema and bronchitis. I have tried all sorts of inhalers, allergy meds, and now I am getting monthly allergy shots. Nothing seems to help really. It's miserable. I don't doubt that I'll soon be on oxygen. I'm 42 and have been sick from this for about the last 6 years. Change doctors if this one isnt going to help you. Do it now and get out if you can. Quoting: Celestialflight 549032OMG! You sound like me! Only I don't smoke! I get stabbing searing pain in my heart and lungs...but they check out ok. When I'm having asthma the bottom of my feet burn! I get random stabbing pains in my organs and in my body and eyes. My tounge and jaw just forward for no reason and I bite my tounge. Thank you so much for your reply! |

Quoting: Anonymous Coward 541964An ozone generator is supposed to kill toxic mold and neutralize a lot of bad stuff. I have one and use it just to keep the bad stuff gone. Be careful of the vendors. Not all ozone generators are quality. There is an ozone spray that is usd in hospitals that may help and not cost so much. Spraying it on your bedding would be the best thing for you. Coltsfoot extract is very good for the lungs. Be sure and take LOTS of Vitamin C...3000 mg 2xday or more. If you have a serious allergy, Echinacea is good for that. Make sure the air filters are changed often in your AC and furnace. . |

She consulted with Solomon about my situation, and he had her put me on the Research Formula by Pure Herbs. [link to www.pureherbs.com] |

I have found ONE thing to so true in dealing with them. They only want to treat the symptoms, not the problem. I learned a long time ago to take an active role in my recovery and not depend on doctors. Nothing that they have tried to date has been successful. Not in treating the pain, the neurological disorders, or the lung problems. Sure they can tell me something's wrong, but they have yet to fix any of it. Detoxification seems to be key. That seems like a great place to start. |
