Down the line local states will run out of unemployment money. Some sooner than others.
Something like security might be a good job. Less money fewer jobs more hunger --> more property crime --> more need to defend property. |

I spent 13 years in auto sales, 13 years in the mortgage biz...and the last 6 months in the home improvement biz.
I have never lost a job before.

I can understand. I have never been laid-off either until Tuesday. I just started at this place in August after being unemployed for 3 months then they announced they are closing down our location.
This sucks. |

I got extremely drunk and ended up in the drunk tank the day i got laid off. My wife freaked and called the cops when I started talking about getting my gun and going to shoot the bastard boss that did it.
Oh well I cooled off and life has been fine since. That guy was a Masonic asshole anyways and I bet his company is Bankrupt by now since it was a small startup. Not to mention I had to drive to Kentucky to work around a bunch of backwards hicks. Never set foot in that state again! |

You are right about states running out of money. AZ used to have a waiting period of one week to collect...now it is a one month waiting period. So the state is trying to generate money with photo radar on the freeways. Yesterday in less than a 10 mile stretch of I-10 east, I counted 4 sets of stationary cameras and one mobile unit. But will anyone be able to pay the fines of close to $200 if they don't have a job? What a mess.
And OP good luck with your job search. And AC 465333 is correct...the security companies are always hiring. |

I am also in Phoenix, Maricopa County, AZ and unemployed. Awhile back there were tons of jobs listed for the State. I clicked on everyone and all of them were for volunteer positions. I couldn't believe it.....they want everyone to be a volunteer and work for nothing!  |

So sorry about that. We are the line also. Could be right behind you soon. Not that it helps you any. We have 3 youngs kids, so to keep it in perspective for us, we just keep telling each other that we'll make it regardless. It is what it is. Don't freak out, we've been there twice before and you do survive it. As long as the family is together, that's all that really is important.
Don't freak too much, lot's of us are in or going to be in the same boat! Misery loves company!

Unfortunately most people don't realize that everybody will change their jobs at least 8 times during their life. Too bad the education system doesn't prepare us for the eventual shock.
If that's the case I'll be at least 287 years old by the time I change 8 times given the time I've spent in my current career.

You cannot legislate the poor into prosperity by legislating the wealthy out of prosperity.
What one person receives without working for, another person must work for without receiving.
The government cannot give to anybody anything that the government does not first take from somebody else.

alsp food stamp office and take prescriptions with you amd any medical insurance plan if you have one..medicaid wil pay insurance preiums to keep you covered on most cases.and cover scripts too...check out walmart prescriptions..4 dollars each on 300 prescriptions.. go online to medicaid.gov rules are very good for even middleclass now .. FHA and V A have program to reduce mortgage payments during family hardship..Va FHA mortage assistance for hardship cases .com |
