Make sure your nephew takes full advantage of all opportunities...tutoring..extra classes/labs and meets with the teacher(s) during office hours. He should be fine.

Pending on what he is going to do he should only have fulfill a few credits which as long as he puts the time in DAILY he will get through. Just make sure he knows you can NOT cram for math..doesn't work that way.

He's an even harder case than I was though. I for instance new damn well that I knew enough in the subject that I wouldn't run into any problems in a career for lack of knowledge and spending any more thought on the subject would be a waste. So I was rebellious, and I wasn't going to be bothered with memorizing all this information I would never apply outside of school, especially considering I was too busy with other things and generally hated the subject.

My nephew though has ADHD. No matter how much we try, we've never really been able to get him to sit down and study/memorize this stuff. Even if we finally get him too, he seems to be unable to remember. He'll read the book or listen to us, a teacher or a tutor, but there's just no retention.

I really just don't think there's any way for him to obtain a degree if he must demonstrate a proficiency in math.
