Anybody ever have a random check sent Fed ex to you?

Yes it is. I got one for a lot like that one time. I told them that my pet mountain lion ate it (bastard took it right off the table when I wasn't looking) and they needed to send another one back to me and this time I put it in a safe spot. They told me that they were "very angry" with me that I would let my pet mountain lion just eat it like that because the check is worth so much money but that they would send me another one. I told them I also changed my address to something like..."123 suckmynuts ave." and I never did see another check. Can't figure out why.

i received a check for 2950 fex ex to my home today i have appliee online for school but never signed up for any the fex ex adrs was differant than the adrs on the check so that is confusing it looks legit i dont know hat to do i dont have a bank acnt and want to know if i am able to cash it at e the same bank in my state and not my bank how to i verify this checj is good or legit?

My 16 year old daughter has received 2 of these checks from different makers drawn on different banks. I work for a bank and called to verify funds and YES, they are fraudulent! Not sure what the scam is because it didn't include ANYTHING but the checks. Beware...if you cash them the bank will come after you for the funds when the check bounces!

CIA uses Western Union as a money laundering operation. Just so you know. and don't cash the damn check. Just shred it so nobody else will cash it,either. Its Xmas, the Nigerians are at full blast this time of yr.

That surely sounds legit. A company out of the blue sending you a check for a large sum of money for no reason. Hell yea, cash it.

yea, someone wanted to buy something from craigslist from me (drums) and overpayed me by 2000 dollars. So I was in question right away. Its a shitty looking check anyway, I know its fake without even having to ask.

The reason they overnight ship it, is that it is harder to track. and the scam is somewhat convinceing to say older or desperate peoples, and I'm sure it works on enough people to be able to afford a measly 30 shipping fee.

Yes I did have a check sent to me via Fed Ex, I went to the bnak the next day to cash it and that afternoon I was in a Philadelphia jail cell!!!

I was charged with multiple counts of atttempted theft, counterfeit check, and theft of movable property. I am currently awaiting trial in Philadelphia county.
the cops didn't want to beleive me, but thankfully I do have Fed Ex fraud department helping me.

I just received a check today from fedex for $1850. They say it is for a mystery shopping solutions. I will never deposit in my checking account, but thought about going to the bank on the check and verifing it is real. The company wants me to keep $200 and western union the rest to another receivers address and tell them how my transaction went. I am not suppose to tell the western union agent that I am participating in this. I am not sure if this is a scam or not! Has anyone heard of this one as a scam?

These people(let's call them the scammers) are not paying for shipping. I didn't get a check. I received a call from an individual (let's call her victim #1) that received a check via Fedex. The fedex label had our company (I'll call us victim #2) as the shipper, but the check inside was from yet a third company. I talked to the third company. You guessed it, they are victim #3. People all over the place are receiving checks from the third company that the third company never sent. Scammers are using other people's account numbers to pay for shipping. All victims are in danger of becoming gobemouches, please don't become one. Don't cash these checks. Call the authorities! You have physical evidence on your hands.

Do not cash the check. If they say it was sent in an error (as they will do most likely if it is a scam), you then do not have to refund them out of your pocket and just ask them to come and pick the check or have it back with charges to receiver. Most likely you will not hear of them afterward.

i had a check come in from fed ex overnight ..i took it to my bank they said it was real ..but wen i took it to the bank that was stated on their it was fake and i had to pay the money back ..so word or advice DO NOT CASH IT OR SPEND IT

i got a check for about 2 grand via fed ex my bank looked it over told me to deposit it so i did and it had cleared within 24 hours, im so lost right now, the check is not the amount we agreed on, he took the product i sold him or someone did because the car has been towed by a gypsy looking guy...the name on the check did not match the name on the envelope, then he emailed me and said he was going to be sending a check and that he was an fbi agent and owned the company that was named on the first check, so either he was a rookie scammer or a complete idiot...who knows...but if you get a check and have it checked out and the routing numbers called in and your bank says deposit it and see if it clears, if it clears then its no longer on you if its a bad check its on the person whom issued it!!

Google the business name again....put in large check received from whatever comoany..im sure you will find others that received this check and it is a scam. i received one for $3200 once...and i was broke...was tempted to cash but luckily i didnt cus according to the fbi it was fake.

Here is what happened to OP. OP was in the USA and most states will haul your ass to jail if you try and cash this. This is called Check Fraud so thats the end of it. OP should have asked if it was real and if OP walked straight into the bank to cash it the bank would have literally contacted the authorities.

I know because this happened to me once but I was smart. I told them that I am aware this could be a scam so just see if it can be cashed. If not, then i'll open the story on where it came from. If it cashed then good. It didn't cash and no one got in trouble.

Scammers are sneaky and smart with this, don't let them sucker you in. (This is for future readers as OP is most likely in a cell)

Today I recieved a package ups and it was a check for 1400. I have no idea why it came to me I thought I won some kind of contest... but I cashed it! and I have the money... I really hope that its not a scam. I researched it for a while for who would dend me the money but I found nothing. I will update you guys in a few weeks to see if it will bounce.

I cashed a check couple weeks ago, and can i do something about it now, because the check overdrew my account, cant i get an investigation started?
