Quoting: aaron_o.oDepending on your tastes, G. R. S. Mead can be interesting if you're looking to build up a historical view of the subject. His material is past copyright, so it's available for download, and reprints are only a few bucks. It's 1900-style writing, which I kind of enjoy, especially with this subject, but it's not for everyone. Either way, his stuff is loaded with information, and it's what I'm working my way through these days. falldown User ID: 520470 United States 11/16/2008 02:16 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | So how and why have you concluded that I am an idiot and now ask of me? Quoting: Anonymous Coward 543159Idiots like to argue in circles, lacking the mental wherewithal to discuss things on a more honest, open level. Telling the OP he's going the wrong way, then playing stupid when he asks what you think is the right way is a pretty good example. Anyway, Aaron, part of the problem with the Holographic Universe is it's such a great book, it's hard to find something comparable until you have an idea of which direction you want to head. Not too many books mix the science with metaphysics in the same way, most are either pretty rough going, or loaded with clear errors and misconceptions. That's kind of why I suggested G. R. S. Mead, his works kind of focus more on historical items, looking into different ways the ancients viewed different aspects of spiritual thought. His works on Jesus are pretty mind-blowing, too, tearing down all sorts of walls that most other folks wouldn't touch with a 10 foot pole. But, again, it's not for everyone, or everyone at a certain point. I suggest a trip to the library, see if they have anything on hand, too. Sometimes you get lucky, although many smaller libraries won't carry "controversial" books. It's free, and you often stumble onto older books you wouldn't be able to find other places. For a more scientific bent, anything on bleeding edge cosmology should wander into occult territory, for no better reason than they're guessing about things they can't entirely observe or understand, which is just about the same thing occultists do. Good luck, though, it's a rough road to travel in the beginning... ~ ~ "He who does not understand your silence will probably not understand your words." ~Elbert Hubbard |
