Colloidal silver problems???

I dunno..I only use it for eyedrops.

I was told to take a tablespoon a day. Using it for various infections, and to try to feel better.

Could be it's killing undesirables in your body (as in detoxing). Perhaps stop for a day or two and see what happens?

What brand are you taking????

Also do not use a metal spoon. . . !!!! Use plastic or wood . . . anything but metal.

Perhaps that is possible, I didn't think about that, I just automatically figured it was making me sick. It is called Organika brand, I got it at a local health food shop in the Toronto area.

The first question, which pertains to proper dosage: is it true colloidal silver or is it ionic silver?

Did you make it or did you purchase it?

If you purchased it, who is the vendor?

Most people take way more than that. Some c.s. is pure shit. If you don't have a generator, I would get one. I used to drink 8oz. at a time 2-3 times per day of the ionic for flu-usually kicked in a day. Some of the over the counter stuff is pure hype and 1 spoon full is a bogus dosage -more for maintenance than getting well. Should be light straw yellow using distilled water when made with a generator (28 VDC).

It's called the die off effect. All the parasites in your body are dead and dying and therfore releasing toxins into your body. You'll be right in a few days.

I just did a quick search for Organika and didn't locate the manf site to see if they tell you how it is made to understand if this is true colloidal or ionic.

If it is ionic - most but not all on the market is ionic - then 5-6 ppm (most ionic is 10-12 ppm and true colloidal averages about 100 ppm and over) at one spoonful is a tiny dosage. Most recommend 1-2 oz ionic per day and 4-6 oz for treatment of an acute condition. The recommended dosage is much less for true colloidal.

My first concern would be the quality of this silver. Is it a reputable manufacturer in Canada? What is the process by which they make their silver? Does the manufacturer publish ppm test results? Etc.

If you feel comfortable that the manf is credible, then I wouldn't worry about the dosage that you are consuming. Again, it's a small amount even for true colloidal.

I should add that a reputable true colloidal silver manufacturer will also publish particle size testing results as well (which must be done at a lab via an electron microscope, from what I understand). These are the items to look for when choosing a vendor.

Always conduct your proper due diligence before picking up a supplement - any type of supplement - off of the shelf.

If you are making it yourself be very very carefull.
When you make the salt solution use only sea salt and watch the concentration. If you have too much salt in the solution (the distilled water with the few drops of salt water) then you can also make silver chloride (if my memory serves me correctly). Do some reading to verify this.

If you purchased the colloidal silver I would contact the manufacturer.

Thanks, TX...I need to look more into it, I just was so thrilled to actually find it! I feel horrible, like I have the damn flu. I imagine there are quite a few toxins in my body.

The explanations about herx are accurate. I just want you to make sure your product is of good quality. If it is quality, then I would tend to lean toward a herx reaction....which is a good thing; you just have to suffer through it. Been there, have the t-shirt and am healthier for it. ;) (I must admit, though, that I'm just a little concerned about the product.)

In addition to the recommendations here, make sure you consume an adequate amount of clean water to help keep your system flushed (help remove the toxins).

When you are feeling better and stop your silver, treat this just as you would conventional antibiotics and take a probiotic such as cultured yogurt, acidophilus, etc to restore the healthy flora in your system.

I drank a whole bottle of 500 ppm over a week just to build my immune system. By the end of the week I could tell I had too much due to the metalic taste, but other than that there were no ill-effects. Colloidial silver is very safe, it's just distilled water with ionic silver.

Well, that was easy enough. LOL I just did a standard Google search.

I reviewed their site, and as a supplement consumer who has done a decent amount of research (from a consumer perspective), this company raises red flags due to their extensive product line. It appears their business model is to reach as many consumers as possible by offering it all. They are most likely NOT a manufacturer of product (not just CS). They most likely purchase in bulk from different product manufacturers (from where??) and relabel. And, unfortunately, this typically means no quality control....and a big marketing dept. This does not always hold true but most often does.

OP, if I were you, I would contact Organika tomorrow and ask them the following:

1. Is your product true colloidal silver (particles) or ionic silver (a mix of ions and particles generated by electrolysis)

2. What is the general process by which their product is made.

3. What is the particle size and the ppm.

4. Ask them to share their testing results with you for proof.

5. If they respond by stating they aren't the manufacturer and do not have that info from the manufacturer, then get the name and phone number of the manufacturer and call them with the same questions. And also tell Organika that they are failing in their marketing claims of "quality, purity and potency" when they are unable to provide the end consumer with the above info.

Please report your results...if / when you feel up to it...this is the type of info that needs to be shared with others.

be careful not to OD or you turn blue and it's NON-reversible. This is not a joke.

Ac makes a very important point. Never, never, never add salt to the distilled water when one is making ionic silver. It forms silver chloride and makes the particle size too large. When the particle size is too large, THAT is what gets lodged in tissue and skin that leads to a development of agrayia.

Now, silver chloride has been used to treat mercury poisoning, but that is a different story for a different thread. lol

Oh, and one more thing to those ingesting ionic silver, the most effective method is to hold it in your mouth and under your tongue (swishing it around the mouth is OK too) as much as possible for as long as possible so the silver is introduced into the bloodstream sublingually rather than "down the hatch" and straight to the stomach.

Sorry to hit you with all this, but it is information I learned from a lot of research, and I'm hoping it can/will assist you and others.

500 ppm is true colloidal silver...the really good stuff. ;)

TX, it seems to work real well. When I feel a sore throat coming on just gargle a bit and it clears it right out. May get some more soon.
Also have the Super Silver that is 10 ppm that I question being some scam.

I just looked at the HH site, and it appears they sell CS in glass bottles rather than plastic: a sign they are concerned with quality. Really interesting site. Thanks for the new reference.

The Super Silver at 10ppm is most likely ionic silver. From HH? Interesting if so because most vendors don't sell both.
