"Twilight" - The Movie
Has anyone here read the Twilight books by Stephanie Meyers? I only just heard about it because the movie opens tonight. I want to read the books. Should I just start with the first one? I know its a dumb question, but there seems to be a huge cult following already and I just want to know where to start.

Here's a trailer to the movie

Yes, start with the first one. They more or less follow each other (I think the second one gives a bit of the first book's story from another character's perspective though).

disclaimer: I have not read the books, I think they're very poorly written... but I have read a fair bit about the series online.

I have to say, I think Stephen King is one of the worst writers out there. How does Meyers compare to him?

Re: "Twilight" - The Movie
Yes, start with the first one. It's the whole Harry Potter thing, except with vampires. The author already pleaded on her website if anyone has read the last book to please keep it under wraps. Some have gotten a hold of it, but most have not. I heard the books are very good. And like most movies, the books are usually better. But yes read them in order.

Apparently the author wrote this series of books for teenagers and adults. I guess that is her writing style.
She wanted teenagers to enjoy it, but also to be able to
have adults read her books too.
