Are we at the precipice of a New Age? NOVUS ORDO SECLORUM MMVIII
My Catalyst, thanks CitrusKush...

I looked up Novus Ordo Seclorum

Are we at the precipice of a New Age? NOVUS ORDO SECLORUM

This question is very relevant given the current state of affairs both here in America and abroad. It appears that everything we knew and counted on have now been turned upon their ear.

What was left is now right, what was right is now left, we can barely recognize our country, politicians , neighbors , friends or family for that matter.

The term “ Think outside of the box”, crept into our mass consciousness a few years ago and it has grown and Mastisized to the point that we only yearn for anything foreign , new, uncharted.

The manifestation of the Spirit of “ CHANGE” is here and now. No more tried and true, no more family values, family traditions or following family heritage , granted there are hold outs and pockets of resistance to this said, “ Change” but for most this is the “ New Now” .

Compare this to the farsighted founders of the United States who thought in terms of ages. They looked back into history as well as forward, realizing their actions would have long-lasting consequences.

More over, Have we identified our modern day Thomas Paine who in January 1776, inspired the Colonies with a vision of this new American Era. In Common Sense he wrote: "The cause of America is in a great measure the cause of all mankind... 'Tis not the concern of a day, a year, or an age; posterity are virtually involved in the contest, and will be more or less affected, even to the end of time, by the proceedings now."

Translating NOVUS ORDO SECLORUM
Novus means: new, young, novel.
Ordo means: row, series, order.
Seclorum means: of the ages, of the generations, of the centuries.
An accurate translation of Novus Ordo Seclorum is "A New Order of the Ages," but the meaning of this motto is better understood when seen in its original context.

What date will be depicted with this Motto Beneath the New American Pyramid
"On the base of the pyramid the numerical letters MDCCLXXVI (1776)
& underneath the following motto. 'novus ordo seclorum'."

Will it in fact be “ MMVIII “ ( 2008 )

Great intro. Hopefully we can fill in some specifics of what a new age will look like and the structures that we will have to build to support it. It's time to start preparing, I reckon.

As to the specifics, I think the rules are being made up as we go along. Everything seems to be in flux, nothing seems to be set in stone yet, and the variables are the very things that make this phase in our existence so intriguing..

John Force the race car driver said after a crash something to the effect of , " The nose tucked, front end flipped, and baby, WHAT A RIDE". I think his words sum up very nicely the ride we are all in for...or so me thinks..

Thanks Magi, in my narrow world view I assumed that secular had only one meaning , that being the one concerning the church. Thanks for the enlightenment..

Re: Are we at the precipice of a New Age? NOVUS ORDO SECLORUM MMVIII
The pendulum swings both ways in equal distance. We have gone from one extreme to another it seems.

Stepping outside the box has created this latest extreme swing, whereas people can't seem to think logically nor do they have compassion. They are just plain paranoid and cynical. Everything is a conspiracy.

Perhaps we need to regain balance in all things? Make a new box with flexible glass sides?

I asked, who will be our modern day Thomas Paine, who will lead the rally call to bring things back into moderation?

As you said we are a populace filled with cynicism and paranoia, and unfortunately it seems there is some merit for the paranoia.. Everything seems to be Willie nilly at this time, no boarders, no boundaries, no "NORM"..

As to the pendulum swing, it is said that there is a moment, just a moment if you will that the pendulum comes to a COMPLETE stop, inertia .. Is this were we find ourselves, nothing to drag us along, everyone all in step from one extreme to another??

Have we broken the rhythm of life, or is this just a pause??

More questions than answers I fear..
