Why Gold Is a Terrible Long Term Investment *Chemist Turns Lead into Gold*
Transmutation of lead into gold isn't just theoretically possible - it has been achieved! There are reports that Glenn Seaborg, 1951 Nobel Laureate in Chemistry, succeeded in transmuting a minute quantity of lead (possibly en route from bismuth, in 1980) into gold. There is an earlier report (1972) in which Soviet physicists at a nuclear research facility near Lake Baikal in Siberia accidentally discovered a reaction for turning lead into gold when they found the lead shielding of an experimental reactor had changed to gold.

And this is only what is being reported to the public.

think of the amazing breakthroughs in technology since 1980 and 1972!

think of the price of manufacturing RAM 30-40 years ago compared to today.

Now consider Nanotechnology.

investing in gold is for suckers.

The problem with this radiologically "transmuted" gold from lead is that it is radioactive gold which is unstable and emits ionizing radioactivity for hundreds of years, so if becomes in vogue one will have to bring a geiger counter with you to the coin store to make sure it isn't the deadly kind of "gold". This isn't a new discovery, they've had this capability for many decades and yet haven't been making the stuff because it's just too "hot" to handle.

"Can you imagine that? He offered this to me as if it was really worth something." The wife vaguely recalls that it had, indeed been valuable sometime in the distant past. The husband replies, "Sure, about a.... hundred years or so ago, before they found a way of manufacturing it," and tosses the gold bar away.

They've been making artificial diamonds for years and you don't see diamonds falling in price.

exactly...that's how they did it DECADES AGO...or at least that was what was reported.

Do you believe when corporations discovered a more practical and economical method of manufacture that they reported it?

Or would they keep it under wraps for as long as they could get away with it?

Re: Why Gold Is a Terrible Long Term Investment *Chemist Turns Lead into Gold*
Australian gold rush started in 1851 when Edward Hargraves and his colleagues found gold near Bathurst, New South Wales. It had a big impact on Australian economy and development.

nano sized gold nanotechnologyScientists had performed the dream which ancient Alchemists had dreamt — creating gold. The gold was not visible to anyone as it was in nano size. However nanoparticles of gold are only created in laboratories but not in nature. Nanosized were discovered in Western Australia by scientists. Scientists were searching for nano gold in nature to understand how geological processes transported and deposited gold. This understanding can help gold explorers to find the new gold field. Leader author, CSIRO’s Dr Rob Hough, explained that nanosized gold was common in environments where saline water interacts with gold deposits. The gold nanoparticles were not detected earlier as they are transparent to electron beams.

Because DeBeers still maintains a monopoly on the distribution of diamonds. If diamonds functioned as a free market commodity, they would fall in price drastically.

Yup - I have a rule. As long as there is huge marketing to buy gold, I will stay away from it with a 10 foot pole. The gold bugs are out to get you. Take note, in a few months when gold is back down sub-650, there will be no marketing for it.

Stop bumping these old threads ffs
"The world will soon wake up to the reality that everyone is broke and can collect nothing from the bankrupt, who are owed unlimited amounts by the insolvent, who are attempting to make late payments on a bank holiday in the wrong country, with an unacceptable currency, against defaulted collateral, of which nobody is sure who holds title."

Never attribute to malice that which is adequately explained by stupidity.
