Way to go boys...always good to know you've got the public's safety at the forefront of your minds! What'll you do when you've squeezed every last drop and the prisons are full? Oh wait...don't answer that... |

Many agribusinesses do not allow gleaning as if there is not adequate supervision there could be insurance liabilities. In the Central Valley of California, many businesses open their fields and orchards to gleaning by area food banks and charities. |

Most old school farmers have a field rotation sched. They plant specific crops that return high amounts of things back into the soil when plowed back in. But yeah it takes quite a bit of work and resources to 'rejuvenate' soil. |

I am from that area(ft. collins, just west of Weld county) and people also happen to like whole foods. Coloradoan lifestyles are generally pretty healthy. "God" said, let us make man in our image.. If it says "FREE" they will come whether they need it or not. If it says "FREE" they will spend the gas to get it, as illogical as that is. I am NOT a human !! |

In a decent car a person can get about 18 mph or better right ? Gas is 1.79 up the street for me. So... it would cost me about 4 bucks for 40 miles of distance. 5lbs of potatoes is 2.29 for the icky ones at my local grocer. Seems cost effective to get the veggies ;) |

Anonymous Coward User ID: 548161 United States 11/23/2008 06:55 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | pleEB that was not a "slaughter of veggies"... this was a harvest ... the plant was dead or dying...people were grateful for the gift... it made the plant's life meaningful this is what so many people do not understand...by eating food, the plant or animal has been "transformed" ... and been assimilated into a higher life form...it is a privilege. There is a tribe in Africa that has thrived for centuries, by sending an unarmed member, out to pray to the heard,... invariably an animal steps out of the heard, and sacrifices itself to keep the tribe alive. this is the true meaning of reincarnation. |
