"The caduceus of Hermes is a representation of the structure of man: the two serpents entwined around the wand are the two negative and positive currents that wind around either side of the spine. The Hindus call them Ida and Pingala, and they call the central channel inside the spine Soushoumna. An initiate is a person who knows how to work with both currents. As his work progresses he acquires powers that allow him to act on nature, on himself and on others. That is why the caduceus has become the symbol of medicine. The caduceus of Hermes represents a whole philosophy and discipline of life. It teaches us how to work with the two negative and positive currents which circulate in the universe. A true initiate, who works with the two principles, who knows the power of the two principles as an instrument, a weapon, a medicine – this initiate possesses true powers."

Sorry O-P, the Caduceus originated from the Book of Enoch.

1Enoch.68:[17]Kasyade: he discovered; the stroke of the spirit by the bite of the serpent, and the stroke which is given in the mid-day by the offspring of the serpent, the name of which is Tabaet.

Have you ever wondered why the medical symbol “The Caduceus” which is a pair of wings drawn open and a rod with two serpents facing each other is the symbol of health?

The Fallen Angels (wings), discovering to the children of men (rod), the bite of the serpent (1st snake) and the stroke given in the mid-day by the offspring (2nd snake).

If you were ever admitted to hospital or visited a doctor you are a victim of this bite, courtesy of the Fallen angels.

"Origin of the Caduceus
The origin of the caduceus has ancient roots. It has also been a source of confusion as the symbol of the medical profession. The staff of Aesculapius represented as a wooden staff with a single snake wrapped around the staff, appropriately symbolizes the physician. On the other hand, the caduceus with two symmetrically entwined serpents on a winged staff is often mistakenly confused as the symbol for the physician.

Aesculapius was the son of Apollo. Apollo was also the god of health. Coronis, the mother of Aesculapius, was a mortal who had a affair with Apollo when later, he was informed that she had been unfaithful. Apollo angry, then ordered that she be slain with arrows when he discovered that she was pregnant with his child. As Coronis lay on a funeral pyre, Apollo had Hermes remove the infant from her womb. Aesculapius was taken to and raised by the centaur, Chirion. Trained in the healing arts by Chirion, Aesculapius was later deified as the god of medicine whose staff has come to represent the physician. The staff made of cypress is roughly hewn, representing solidity and strength. Entwined by a single snake, likely a religious connection to the earth and a symbol of wisdom. Later, the followers of Aesculapius teachings and in order to worship him as their god, formed the cult of Asklepios Over three hundred Aesculapian temples later served as medical centers equally devoted to the healing arts and worship of Aesculapius. Hippocrates, considered the embodiment of the ideal physician was in later generations, a member of the cult of Asklepios"
