Hell has finally frozen over - it´s snowing in Death Valley!

And I know you´ll all call me sissy - but it´s been cold here in Hawaii - 51 degrees this morning! Very unusual. The sun finally came out today after several weeks of rain so it warmed up a bit. Weird clouds in the sky though - like someone smeared them with a smudge tool - not our usual clouds.

Permafrost melting everywhere, Alps and Tibetan Mt melting, and a day or so back Alaska was 51 degrees-they had to cancel dogsledding competition-not enough snow. I think we will be seeing lots of buried treasure soon.

Snow today in the Mojave Desert. But it turned to rain so now it´s slush. We usually get some every few years or so.

I had been complaining about these strange clouds obliterating the sun in NYC. I would wake up in the morning and see a bright, blue sky, but by about 9 AM, these thick, gray clouds would roll in and cover the sun. Occasionally it would rain (there was a ton of rain this year), but often there was no rain - just a thick cloud covering for no apparent reason. This occurred the entire summer except for a two week period which coincided with the Republican National Convention. Just before the RNC, during it and after it, there was not a cloud in the sky except for one or two white fluffy ones and the sun was brightly shining. When the dog and pony show was over, the clouds returned. I thought it was just a NYC thing. But it seems to have been going on worldwide.

I´m a reality TV watcher. If you watch these programs (like Amazing Race, Fear Factor, Branson´s show, etc.) you´ll see those large, black strange clouds in the background every single day these people do their stunts. Now normally in these shows, there will be one of two days where it´s gloomy, but the rest of the time is spent in sunshine and clear skies. No more. Those grey clouds are there on film every single day. Branson took the final two contestants to his private island and showed them the view. The view? Black clouds looming overhead.

The weather is changing. Whether we´re seeing smog or something else is the question. But if it´s smog, why did it dissipate at the time of the RNC?

Strange. Very strange.

Hell is not hot.

I was there in summer some years ago and went out hte car after midnight and I thought: "Oh my god. it´s still so hot and there is no wind/air around me"

I thought it never snowing in dead valley. so that pic is real ???

That´s not so far off Marianne, I read a book where the ´big answer´ (to ´what is life?´)was that ´life IS hell´

You know what, I cant wait for the new series of pop idol. I think it´ll be really good and its nice to see the so called money people give young people a shot at the big time.

It has snowed a many a time. Nothin new, jus dont happen much, thats all.

I read an article about that on Drudge, it snows some every year there, so not really that abnormal.
