Tutankhamun is now generally believed to have been Akhenaten's son by a secondary wife, Kiya. The boy was originally named Tut-ankh-Aten, which could be translated as "living image of the Aten". Since Akhenaten was himself "the beautiful child of the sun god", Tut's original name might be interpreted as chip off the old block.
