IMHO silence is a shallow response.

What does this mean?

What if One hand clapping is a reference to a preference for handedness in a world defined by the electron which has a preference for spin or handedness?
Actually all the building blocks seem to have a preference for a certain handedness or SPIN.
DNA >> Amino Acids >> Carbs >> Crystals

Either CW or CCW are the choices...
And the Buddhists still have a reverence for the swastika defined by the same movements...

And one hand clapping refers to the fact that your LEFT and RIGHT hands are chirally asymmetric.

So are the building blocks I mentioned.
One Hand Clapping obviously refers to HANDEDNESS or as it is defined by a physicist CW or CCW.

Since there are no logical answers to this question answering it results in silencing the mind. It is to give the EXPERIENCE of silence, not the word. The depth of experienced silence is infinite, like with love. Both limitless.

Koans can only bring you to the edge of mind, beyond that it is all subjectiveness :)

This next post continues to explain why the traditional One Hand Clapping = silence is a shallow response, considering we now have scientific tools to help penetrate this 'language' based on metaphor and parable.

However there is a pattern observed, it is archetypal and it is transcendental.

Thanks for the invite Raphael but i do not follow others. I am free from following.

I see you studied. Archetypes are from the mind. Ramana was pointing to a state of being beyond waking/sleeping/deep sleep, the 4th state. No objective knowledge can get you there, just awareness. Objective knowledge becomes a hindrance on the spiritual path if one thinks one knows a lot. WHO is the knower? If you EXPERIENCED that answer you will have solved the koan.

If you would have EXPERIENCED the answer you would not say "i think", you would KNOW, be doubtless about it. Not anybody else can answer for you whether you got it, only that you did not. If you THINK you have the answer, then you missed it. If you KNOW the answer not anybody can convince you otherwise. Then you know nothing.)

The finger i consider a good sign, my young friends here are like that. I am guessing you do your own research. That is what is required to answer the koan.
