...talking about the "high thin type cirrus" clouds for the last week and a half.
They have been mentioning this phrase and other variations in nearly every delivery of the forecasts. They sound awkward when they mention these clouds.
The thing is, the clouds are coming from jets. Why don't they just say that?
What are they avoiding?

You are not aware that "high thin type cirrus" clouds existed long before high altitude flight?

Seriously,

how friggen ignorant are you people?

Hi.

The "Strands of cirrus" is my favorite obfuscating term.
Ken Cook of Atlantas Fox five said that one day. I howled. It was sparkly purple/silver and glowing yellow orange with several sundogs and chembows

I am aware of the natural cirrus. I was raised in the sky. Flying since the age of one.
The "high thin clouds" that are "filtering the sunlight" or " acting as a blanket to keep the temperatures from falling overnight" are being created by the jets..not Momma nature...
I am closer than you could ever imagine.
Trust me.

oh..."high thin type cirrus" were actually referred to as, simply, cirrus before the high, thin, filtering type were invented.
