Being a military wife myself, who has live all over, including in Europe, this is what I have noticed. The "majority" of American military men who marry foreign women do so because they cannot get American women. They often are not the most "virile" of men, if you catch my drift, maybe not very good looking, etc. and they find that foreign women, who are eager to get their green cards are more than willing to get married. What's sad is, most of these marriages end in divorce, once these women get what the want (their green cards), or many of the men have to stay in the country their wives are from (if the wive does not want to leave), and then they are stuck. Unless you know without a shadow of a doubt that your foreign wife to be is marrying you for you, and not future citizenship, or unless you are fine with living forever in your future wife's country (if she doesn't want to leave), seriously think twice about doing it. I've seen a lot of heartache over it.
