Only sick cultures accept this behavior. It is not normal for one man to shoot his semen in another mans rectum.

I didn't realize anal sex was a requirement for all homosexuals. How about lesbians?

He wasn't talking about lesbians, lesbians don't have penises.

So lesbians are okay, just not fags. Makes perfect sense now, thanks.
And those who were seen dancing were thought to be insane by those who could not hear the music.

Electric Light Orchestra - Evil Woman

You made a fool of me
But them broken dreams have got to end
Hey woman you got the blues
Cause you ain't got no one else to use
There's an open road that leads no where
So just make some miles between here and there
There's a hole in my head where the rain comes in
You took my body and played to win
Ha, ha woman, it's a crying shame
But you ain't got nobody else to blame

Evil woman, evil woman
Evil woman, evil woman

Rolled in from another town
Hit some gold, too hot to settle down
But a fool and his money soon go separate ways
And you found a fool lyin' in a daze
Ha ha woman
What you gonna do
You destroyed all the virtues that the Lord gave you
It's so good that you're feelin' pain
But you better get your face board the very next train

Evil woman how you done me wrong
But now you're to wail a different song
Ha, ha funny how you broke me up
You made the wine now you drink the cup
I come runnin' every time you cried
I thought I saw love smilin' in your eyes
Ha, ha very nice to know
That you ain't got no place left to go

Marvine Gaye - I Heard It Through The Grapevine

Ooh, I bet you're wondering how I knew
About you're plans to make me blue
With some other guy that you knew before.
Between the two of us guys
You know I love you more.
It took me by surprise I must say,
When I found out yesterday.
Don't you know that
I heard it through the grapevine
Not much longer would you be mine.
Oh I heard it through the grapevine,
Oh and I'm just about to lose my mind.
Honey, honey yeah.

I know that a man ain't supposed to cry,
But these tears I can't hold inside.
Losin' you would end my life you see,
Cause you mean that much to me.
You could have told me yourself
That you love someone else.
Instead...

People say believe half of what you see,
Son, and none of what you hear.
But I can't help bein' confused
If it's true please tell me dear?
Do you plan to let me go
For the other guy you loved before?
Don't you know...

Re: has any culture in the history of man ever accepted gays openly?
I took a sociology course in college titled "Sex and Culture." The course was an examination of sexuality and evolution.

When a species is under stress, more homosexuality occurs. Homosexuals use less resources than heteros do, they don't breed as much and they produce as much or more.

Homosexuality occurs throughout history; it's in the Bible (David and Jonathan anyone?). And it occurs in every culture.

Canis, you probably know more about this than I do...wasn't there something about transgendered individuals being considered "magickal" in some way? I don't know if that meant they were shamans or what, but I remember reading something along those lines several times before.

Some ancient cultures accepted homosexuality.
Those cultures eventually failed.
Therefore, accepting homosexuality caused them to fail.

Nothing wrong with this line of reasoning!!

When a culture is on it's knees and just about to be wiped out it will go sodomite.

This is factual historical science.
If your culture is sodomite it will die soon.

Yes, they were called Two Spirits. There wasn't such a thing as a transgender (since they obviously cannot switch genders back then), but a two spirit would frequently mate with a heterosexual member of their tribe of the same gender, and it was considered a normal heterosexual relationship. Two Spirits were often important members of their tribe, such as shamans or other leader types. Two spirits are defined as it sounds, having a spirit of each gender together in one body.

Exactly... it's such an abomination to the natural order of things, and I've about had it with the TV shows and movies having a gay character in every single friggin' plot nowadays. It's disgusting!

That's quite a vivid picture don't you think? You must spend a tremendous amount of time thinking about the ramifications and the mechanics of gay sex to have thought about that one! I AM A GAY MAN and that never occurred to me. Of course I do tend to get out of bed and go shower after sex. Most of us don't walk around with bodily fluids clinging to us, anywhere. But there are some people who seemingly not only behave that way but who have eroticized it to the point where they write about it.

Hell, I haven't heard a description like that since I picked up a very trashy gay novel back in the 60's! That came out of your mind? Poor thing!

try to believe that when a man has cum dripping out of his ass down his taint onto his ballsack.

Oh, and I forgot to mention the origin of the name for women who want to be with women. It originates from Homer's "The Iliad" and, in particular, Homer's discovery of the Island of Lesbos.

If you haven't read the Iliad...well words can't express how sad that is.
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 2108

Well, the Island of Lesbos has been around long before Homer, lol! Lebians got that name from Sappho of Lesbos, a man-hating poet.

So have all the cultures that were anti-homosexual as well. I rather doubt that acceptance or denial of gays and lesbians had much to do with the vitality of a nation or a culture.
