Yep. And that's truly what I feel. I don't know why it's touching to me, but I'll sit and just think of their lives...what they were like, how it was for them. Then I'll leave a rock. It's pretty neat. Peaceful. :)

It's essentially affirmation of their soul, PENG. You're acknowledging they exist and persist in existing. You may be the only person who remembers that soul on that day. For some folks, who have passed into oblivion who are not remembered at all, then you might be the only person in many decades even hundreds of years who affirmed their soul at all.

That is awesome! I've seen virtual caches, multi step caches... The microchaches can be a bitch! Some are the size of your pinky finger. Some caches have junk in them and we upgrade them. I like to put survival stuff in them.
Caches rank from 1 to 5, with 5 the most difficult.... Like scuba diving caches. Lol. Fox did a planet of the apes cache years ago where they put props from the movie in them. Cachers went nuts. Lol. I'll post an image of a secret place I had no idea existed.

and the rock thing you mentioned. I do sort of the same thing when I hike a mountain. I take a rock from the base, put it under the laces of my shoe and once I get to the top I replace it with a rock from the summit. Take one up, bring one down. then I have a memento of the hike

Here it is. Not sure if this link works, it's on 125 here or another thread (can't remember) in my images.
So this is less that ten miles from me and I had no idea. The pic doesn't do it justice. It was a dry spell. So I park in this Cemetary and there is this foot trail that goes about 3/4 mile back and wham, there it is. There are no other waterfalls around. Just deep back in the middle of no where. The cache was hidden in the top left. Just a few people hanging around. Very cool.

I took this pic with my computer a couple days ago. It is the first new pic I have taken in a year or so. I refuse to do any body pic's until I get this weight off. I had a thyroid tumor and put on tons of weight, trying to get it off now. I am 49 looking at the big 50 in August, plus my oldest son is getting married in September, and I want to look good for the wedding. :) I know vanity is a sin.....I am working on it. Lol.

I hope you heal soon. Thyroid cancer can be quite serious but mostly it's very curable.

Thank you so much!!! I had two tumors that were found during a routine check up. It was crazy, but I am much better now. The poem is beautiful, thank you!!! I usually curl my hair, but had just blow dried it so it was more natural in the pic. Thank you again for the kind words!

Thank you!!! My age has never bothered me much until this year. I guess it is the whole 50 thing, and I am starting to feel the age. My mother died at 41 and my sister at 35 so I try to see everyday as a blessing.

It's a very common mistake made due to differences in the sentence structure and linguistics rules. Dangerwalt is quite kind and considerate; it was unintentional.

Re" thyroids and gaining weight.

The thyroid controls metabolism and the burning of calories, and as such often results in either Hypothyroidism and weight gain or Hyperthyroidism and weight loss. It'm sure you're supplementing with Synthroid, a synthetic thyroid hormone, and so it might need to be adjusted.

A thyroid is like a drop of hormone in a olympic pool of water, that's the most common medical analogy, and therefore hormone replacement is fraught with difficulty in making a similar very precise miniscule release of hormone. I hope things work out. No bone issues I hope? The parathyroid glands (4) are located on the thyroid and get excised during thyroid removable depending upon your cancer and the skill of the surgeon plus realistic assessment from the the pathologist on the margins of the tumor.

Ha, ha......that's great!!! Yes, I am single, but I am that way intentionally. I decided a few years ago to take a mini-sabbatical from dating and relationships. I needed to heal from my health issues, and I wanted to be alone for a while. I was thinking maybe in the fall I might venture back out into the world. I could use a little fun.
