If America is such A FREE COUNTRY...How come we have the largest PRISON POPULATION IN THE WORLD??

If you are cold, you probably don't have a lot of black males in your area.
If you did, you would experience a lot of belligerent behavior. I try not to be prejudice, but I get exposure to this behavior most days.
Lots of angry Negroes here. And they don't show respect for others unless they think they are outgunned.

Mostly poor Black drug addicts maybe OBAMA will let them out on the streets, so we can have more homeless people running around.

First of all I don't think I ever said China was a free country. If you think the US is a free country you are delusional. What I said was the US is more of a police state than China. I see far more police in an average city in the US than in China. The average cop here doesn't carry a gun. In my six years here i have not been approached by a cop for any reason. I wish I could say the same for the US.

They do have check points when you cross to another province like they do when you cross from Canada or Mexico into the US. They are just checking if you have ID or a visa to visit or live in that province. Cops do the same in the US. When I would drive to other states with CA plates cops would pull me over and ask what I'm doing there, check to see if I have insurance, warrants etc. This to me is more intrusive since you can be pulled over anywhere for any reason. I have no problem flashing my passport and visa at the border as this only takes a few seconds. I do however have a problem with being randomly checked and followed which is what police do in the US.

As far as taxes go only people who make over 120,000 rmb a year which is considered quite high here, pay taxes. The average office manager only makes half of that a year. And all business pay taxes as well. The average person doesn't pay income tax.

As far as the internet goes the main difference between the US and China is the outlaw of porn. I can visit most sites here as I can in the US. Now if the religious right in the US had their way our internet would be exactly like China. If you don't think the internet in the US isn't monitored and censored you are sadly mistaken.

As far as voting goes I personally don't think every moron should have the right to vote. At the very least people should be able to answer basic questions about each candidates positions. Instead we got at least 70% or more of the electorate who choose their candidates based on personality, and who they would like to have a beer with.

I can see someone voting Republican over Democrat in general but the fact that America elected the idiot Bush over 2 candidates who were obviously way smarter is an example of how democracy doesn't always work.

Before anyone thinks I'm bashing my country, I love the US and American culture. When I have enough cash saved up to live the same lifestyle I'm living here I look forward to moving back. Though I don't look forward to moving back into the police state. But the same goes there as it does here, if you are legit and have nothing to hide than you have nothing to worry about.

Oh and as far as the drug laws here police can't arrest anyone for possession. They only arrest people who are caught in the act of selling. They do have stiff penalties if you are caught with several Kgs of dope.

Family courts and child support destroys many lives.

The reason why we have so many inmates in the United States is because our country is run by a very conservative group of people; especially right wring religious conservative Christians. If we changed our laws like to what they have in many European countries our prison population would be half the amount it is right now. To cut our prison population in half we need to legalize the growing and use of marijuana, legalize all recreational drugs, their sale, and use; and lower the age of consent laws for sex with girls and boys to 15 like it is in Holland, and 16 in England and Germany. Just changing these three major areas of the penal code would half our prison population, and we would then be only incarcerating real criminals like murderers, gangsters, etc. This would also bring a great savings to our state budgets, especially in California which still hasn't figured out how to cut is 42 billion dollar deficit.

You make a relevant point, my biggest exposure to African people was at primary [elementary?] school and Scotland doesn't have a high ratio of ethnic Africans.

I do know a racist when I'm 'see' one- Scotland has more than it's fair share of those- and the previous poster who engaged me was one.
